Sandy is a retired puppy mill mama who spent 11 years having litter after litter not knowing comfort or kindness. Now, for the first time in her life, she has discovered what it means to be safe, loved, and free. She knows what a family is.
Sandy has a heart murmur which is managed by medication. She also has a history of mammary masses, all of which have been removed. Some were removed prior to her arrival without pathology tests done, but a few were removed recently were benign. She had dental so her mouth is all cleaned up. Sandy then showed up with a mast cell tumor that has been treated.
Through all this Sandy became a brave little warrior. She is incredibly gentle and gets along well with other dogs. After a life of hardship, Sandy has learned what love is. She is now cared for in the Compassionate Care Program, meaning she will live forever in her foster home where she will continue to get medical care and tons of love.
