Rose

Hi! My Name Is Rose

Rose is one of the sweetest Cockers I've ever had the pleasure of getting to know. She does not like when my other animals come near me and there have been some incidents where she will start a fight with my other dogs. She has gone after my cats, but this is primarily when we are on the sofa where she's the most territorial. Rose sleeps in the bed with us and I frequently wake up through the night as she's Army crawled onto my chest. She doesn't seem to think this is a bother! I've been known to say "If she could crawl inside my body to be 1 with me, she would" and that statement still holds true today. Such a sweet dog that constantly needs to be with me at all times. She's in an X-Pen (raised floor) when I cannot have my eyes on her throughout the day. This is roughly 5-8 hours M-F, with potty breaks at noon. When I first got her she had a large urine wound that was healing on her left hip. This was due to her being in a kennel and having urinated then sat in it for extended periods of time. I've got it healed and the hair is growing back. Since she's in a Pen, she will urinate from time-to-time. This isn't a big deal for the X-Pen but I do see it being problematic in a regular kennel. She's been seen by 3 vets in the last 10-weeks. We've tested for everything under the sun and overall got a clean bill of health. In the last month I've added Fish Oil to her diet. She's never been taught how to walk on a leash, but she would make an excellent walking buddy if you trained her. I've been working on her separation anxiety and I do feel it is getting better. For the most part she has stopped crying when I leave her. Constantly trying to please me and always seeking acknowledgement, she looks forward to going to the X-Pen. Rose is such a good girl when I trim her nails and does great with baths. I use blue dawn to wash out the tough dirt and grime and then finish with a simple shampoo and conditioner. She will honestly let you do whatever you want, just as long as she's bonded to you. This little girl will make someone very happy, but she will require time and patience. I believe there are some behaviors which has resulted in her marking on a consistent basis. I'm doing everything I can to work with her, but because she feels so insecure, the urinating around the house has been a challenge to work around. I've resorted to washable diaper's and I would be more than happy to send some with her. I took her into internal medicine to see if there was anything affecting her health that may be causing this and just about everything has been ruled out. In the last 4 weeks she had 2 seizures while we were outside before bed. They were back to back at the same time and lasted 2 minutes. She's not had anymore seizures since then point but something to be monitored. I have no other medical records aside from vaccinations of which I received when I purchased her. She's recently spayed and had a dental done, no bad teeth but has some enamel loss on 1 tooth. Rose will make someone special very happy, but most specifically if there is a man in the house with a beard she will be glued to him. I look forward to seeing Rose get the 1-on-1 love and attention she deserves. She's never had the opportunity to be loved unconditionally, could you be Rose's person?
**** I'm going to groom her tonight and would like to send better photos at that point. I will email them to you once I get them.
