Rico is an 8‑year‑old sweetheart with a calm, cuddly nature and a wise, old‑soul personality. He’s a total couch potato, a loyal shadow who follows his person from room to room, and a gentle companion who blends beautifully into family life.
Rico is wonderful with all people and absolutely adores kids of every age—babies, toddlers, big kids, and even the rowdy ones. He enjoys the company of all dogs and has not been tested with cats. He’s house trained with no accidents, crate trained, and even bell trained at the door. Rico knows advanced commands, responds quickly, and happily obeys.
Rico has Cushing’s disease, but he manages it well with his daily medication (which he happily takes in a pill pocket). Despite this condition, he lives a full, happy, and active life. He loves walks, car rides, sunbathing, snuggling, and being part of the family’s routine.
This boy is incredibly intuitive and observant. He watches over the household like a loving guardian—alerting his foster mom if a door is left open, a puppy is chewing cords, a child is out of bed, or if someone is sneaking snacks. He’s the real‑life version of Nanna from Peter Pan, always keeping an eye on his family.
Rico has a few adorable quirks: he insists on sleeping in bed with his person, loves napping under furniture, and will counter surf if dinner is left unattended. He’s very food‑motivated and will “voice his concerns” if meals are late. He has no behavioral issues and no separation anxiety—just a big heart and a funny personality.
He enjoys playing gently with kids and puppies, snoozing at his foster mom’s feet while she works, and getting morning zoomies when the household wakes up. He loves love, companionship, and being included in everything.
Rico would thrive in almost any home, especially one with kids, people, or other friendly dogs. He’s an easy, affectionate, deeply loyal dog who brings comfort, humor, and warmth wherever he goes
