Pepe will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption. He is scheduled to be neutered on March 15th.
Pepe came to RMCR from a shelter, he was initially a stray. Our vet thinks he is a poodle / terrier-mix. Like a typical terrier he is a little bouncy and mouthy. He is shy at first and takes a while to loosen up. He did very well with handling for his first vet appointment.
I have learned that he is housebroken. He does have some separation anxiety, but the one time he broke out of the dog room and was alone in the house he didn’t do anything. He has full run of the house and gets along with my dogs and the two cats. He’s a pretty good dog. The first 24 hours he is anywhere new he is going to be stressed, But after that, he fits right in. Pepe is easy to correct with a firm no or a grunt noise in a disapproving tone. He knows what bitter apple is. All you have to do is hold up the bottle and he’ll stop whatever he’s doing and go lay down.
