Milo N 24060

Hi! My Name Is Milo N 24060

I'm Available

Milo is a very handsome boy and the most loyal dog you will find! He wants to be wherever you are and will follow you around.  Nothing makes him happier than to be with his beloved humans.  He loves his walks but will bark at many things he sees. For walks, he would do best   on a trail or path that isn’t very populated.   Barking becomes his notification to beware.

Milo enjoys playing with dog toys and playing fetch with a ball. He sleeps in his dog bed and likes it when it is close to your bed.  Milo loves to be your guard dog. He will bark when someone comes to the house – stranger danger!    His barking can be redirected with consistent corrections, distractions, and rewards.  When people, especially strangers, come to my home I put Milo in a kennel upstairs with a sheet over it, calming music playing and giving him a chew toy works wonders to help quiet him. As his foster I haven’t seen anything that I would consider aggression. Certain situations seem to stress him out. He has done some fear-biting in the past therefore no children please   He has been on Prozac daily, the dose is currently being reduced, and he is doing well.

Milo is ok being left at home with my other dogs while I do occasional errands (1-3 hrs.).  He enjoys having other dogs in his foster home.  He really should have another dog friend in his forever home.  Milo has adjusted well to a cat.  He seems to not care for society, so he does require a fenced yard and a quiet, calm home. Milo has not had many car rides, so he might not lay down for a snooze when he is in a car.   He seems to want to live in his own little safe world.   I think he would quickly accept 2 consistent humans but would more than likely have his favorite whom he would follow around.  Milo would be an amazing companion and friend for someone that works from home or is retired.

Milo's history: Milo was surrendered to a shelter in El Paso, TX. He had been in two different homes prior to the shelter. Milo will need a slow transition into his next home, so an experienced owner is essential.  One who will watch, listen, and learn what Milo’s actions and reactions are “saying” to you.  Milo should not be rushed into a new household. He needs time to sniff, look, listen, and learn - time to settle into his new surroundings.

If you can take the time for Milo to get to know you, he can become your best friend.  If your home is quiet, Milo may be the dog you need.  Once he gives his love, you will be well cherished.  Milo would love to find his forever home with adults only and a dog friend.
