Hi! My Name Is Milo N 24060
I'm Available
Milo is a very handsome boy and the most loyal dog you wil find! He wants to be where ever you are! He loves his dog walks and playing with dog toys or a ball. He eats dry dog food and loves a few treats as well. He sleeps in his dog bed and likes it when it is close to your bed. He is not allowed to lay on the furniture (sofa/chairs) in our home so is content to lay in his dog bed close to where you may be sitting. He uses his dog door whenever he needs to go outside.
Milo is the guard dog for the house. He will notify you (bark) whenever anyone goes in or out of the front door. When anyone comes to visit, he will let you know that this person is a stranger and he needs lots of assurance that they are "OK" to be in your home. He is walked with a short leash, but he is not comfortable meeting other people/dogs when he is out walking. When other dogs have come for dog sitting, he will allow the usual sniffing and then just ignores their presence in our home. When out walking with another dog and dog owner, he responds best if he is in the lead, otherwise he continues to let you know that he is uncomfortable with a "stranger". Milo is unsure what it means when he is put in the car to go for a car ride and will be shaking and need lots of time before he is willing to lay down. He has not been kennel trained and barks as he is no longer able to be protecting you if he is locked in the kennel.
Milo's history: He was surrenderd to a shelter by his prior owner. He does carry some fears / anxieties with him still today and is on prozac daily. He is still fearful at the vet and groomer and is given anxiety meds prior to those experiences.
Milo will need a slow transition into his next home. An experienced foster or owner is essential. One who will watch, listen, and learn what Milo’s actions and reactions are saying. This will help his apprehension in certain situations. Milo should not be rushed into a new household. He needs time to learn a new environment and people. Time to settle into his new surroundings.
Milo would love to find his forever home with adults only. Might that home be your home?
