Milo will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for aoption. It will be quite a while until he is cleared for adoption because he is heartworm positive. That treatment takes a few months and after that is complete he will still have to be neutered.
Milo is a total lovebug --great at snuggling and napping on the couch. He wants to be near his person. He does fine in the crate while you need to get some work done if he can see you. He seems to have high energy, is active and playful. He requires consistent basic training; it seems like he has a lot of pent-up energy. He needs a fenced yard. Milo needs loving patience and guidance while learning boundaries, both in-home and on walks. He will ask for a lot of attention and pats but settles after a while. Milo has had no problem with meeting new people who have come into the home, he is eager to greet them. The only barking that has happened is when he spots a bunny through the window or needs a break from his crate during the day. On walks Milo is training to stay at your side and not pull. He is super sweet with adults and kids and loves the attention. He has been good at meeting children on walks. Look out when he has spotted a bunny or squirrel! A tight hold on the leash is required! There is aggression towards other dogs on leash, we are working on correcting this. Milo will chew on shoes if he can get them. He likes to jump on tables and counters but is learning that the squirt bottle means “Don’t Do That”!
Overall, Milo is a wonderful, sweet dog who needs some extra love, patience, and training.
Milo's History: Milo was rescued from the middle of a busy highway in Oklahoma in November. He was saved by a good samaratin who took him to the vet to get him stable. He was emaciated and covered in "thousands' of fleas and tar. Milo is a sweet and gentle dog that will make someone a wonderful and loving companion in the months to come.
Donations would be greatly appreciataed for Milo's extensive vet care.
