Finneas will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption. We need a foster move for Finneas. Can you help?
Finneas is 3 years old and weighs 30lbs. He is in urgent need of a quiet, calm foster home with no children. He is a high-energy dog with a big, goofy personality who loves attention, car rides, walks, toys, fetch, head pats, and being near his people.
Finneas does best with a consistent daily routine and thrives when meals, bathroom breaks, medication, activity, and bedtime happen on a predictable schedule.
Ideal foster home
- A quiet, calm household with no children.
- An experienced, patient foster who can provide structure and calm handling.
- Someone able to give Finneas plenty of exercise and consistent daily routine.
- A home where he is not crated or shut away in rooms where he cannot see or understand what is happening.
Behavior and support
- Finneas has fear-based aggression that has resulted in bite behavior described as a nip and release.
- Because of this, he needs a foster who can follow guidance closely and give him time, space, and consistency.
- We will work with the vet to determine the best medication plan for him.
- We will arrange for a trainer to help the foster manage his behavior safely and successfully.
Pets
- Finneas previously lived with a senior small dog and a senior cat.
- He generally does well with dogs and cats.
- He will need slow, well-managed introductions to help him understand that other pets are safe and part of the household.
Please help if you can. Finneas has many wonderful qualities and knows several cues, including spin, sit, lay down, roll over, heel, wait, leave it, paw, touch, and more. He needs a committed foster who can offer patience, routine, exercise, and compassionate support while his care team helps him succeed.
