Drake comes from a field trialer who didn’t think he was worth the $500 he still owed on him. I met him last week while visiting a field trialer I’m friends with (I’m not part of this world, but she trained a couple of my horses in the past) and they’re coming through Colorado.
Drake has spent his entire life outside. Either staked out on a 2 foot line, in a small kennel, or in a run when at home. He gets scared when we’re attaching his leash; he’ll cower because he’s waiting for us to grab him by the collar and throw him in a box kennel (it’s how the dogs are loaded up).
He was in a fairly big crate last night, and didn’t potty. He woke me up at 8 am screaming to go out. But loose in the house, he did have 2 accidents. I expected this as he’s never been in the house before.
Drake is a super happy, healthy, friendly boy. He doesn’t have his house manners but he’s so overly eager to be with people I think he could adjust so quickly.
