Chewy will remain in the Recovery Room until he is cleared for adoption. We are learning more and more about him and his needs.
Chewy is a very active and playful Cocker Spaniel-Mix. He is solid black with a few gray accents on his chest and tail. He loves toys and things to chew on, and loves to go on runs, hikes, and long walks. He has had problems with anxiety and fear-based reactivity, mainly toward men who he doesn't know. He's very affectionate and friendly in calm environments and obeys commands well.
Chewy has done well with both men and women in his foster home. Chewy has some history of poor behavior with children who were not able to give him "space" when playing. Let's give Chewy a forever home only with children over 16 years of age.
Now that chewy has settled in, he has been a sweetheart. Chewy is crate traied and house trained. He sleeps in his bed while I work from home, but if I’m up and about, he’s up and about with me or playing with my 54 lb dog. He is active and playful, and loves being outside and playing in the backyard. He really needs a fenced yard. I think it might be good for him to have another dog to play with, but not necessary. He likes to snuggle just as much as he likes to play. Chewy has had basic training, has a good recall, knows sit, and is working on lay down. Chewy will occasionally gently take an object (shoe) when he wants attention, but his happy once he gets pets.
Chewy is lookig for his forever home with active adults and a fenced yard.
