Brenner will remain in the Compassionate Care Program so he can continue to receive the care needed for newly diagnosed cancer.
UPDATE 09/18/2026: Brenner had emergency gallbladder surgery on September 3rd. He has recovered well. However, we have recently learned the results from the histopath that Brenner now has malignant growths in his liver, and the gallbladder was cancerous. His care will now involve both an oncologist and an internist. He is feeling well and will remain in his loving foster home with his bonded sister Dasie.
UPDATE 07/08/2026: Brenner's surgery is now over. He has many stitches and has been recovering well. The mast cell tumor has been completely excised. He needs follow- up for some tumor cells still present in the surgery margins from the anal gland adenocarcinoma to decide the best plan of action to monitor this area. He is doing well and is very attached to his foster. She says he is the sweetest boy ever!
Update: Brenner is pending surgery on June 26th for an anal gland adenocarcinoma and a subcutaneous mast cell tumor. Please follow up for his progress.
Brenner is such a sweet older fellow, just happy & and amazing dog! He is bonded to Dasie. He still wants to play in the yard but seems to understand the limitations that come with age. He is housetrained. He is doing well with the other household dogs and the cat. He is either deaf or hard of hearing and currently has an ear infection that is being treated.
