Vodka will soon be adopted by his foster!
Vodka is one of the recernt mill dog rescues. He is have trouble trusting humans. His fosters are doing a great job allowing him to go slow so he can learn to trust. He is very shy and insecure. He is fearful of people, standoff-ish, but inquisitive as long as you are not too close - a few feet away might be ok. He enjoys his crate and watching the other neighborhood dogs from the window. He is still too frightened to walk on his leash and mostly stays in his crate when he knows humans are near. He likes treats and pets, but is still very scared around us. He seems to enjoy the company of our cats, and they enjoy him. He is making small improvements everyday and is beginning to show his curious personality but he still faces a long road ahead.
UPDATE 03/15/2026: Vodka is so much better in general. Still scared to death of us but he is playing and pouncing all over the room when we are not looking. He thinks the tennis ball is the greatest thing ever. He does not run to his cage everytime he sees us but he does back away. Such good progress even if it's slow. He has the sweetest personality and he is getting bold and will now occasionally go into the hall to follow us.
