Sury is a sweet calm 2yr old mix that may be Tibetan Spaniel. Her coat is soft black with a few white areas, it does not seem to shed. She is a highly intelligent dog! Sury is originally from Juarez where she had her eyes medically removed. She is healing well, and currently takes only a small amount of allergy medication. Her hair is in the process of growing back in. Even though she is totally blind Suey is motivated to please, seeks to communicate and gives or welcomes affection to everyone, including the vet. She quickly mapped the house and fenced yard and is able to navigate off leash, even around a decorative pond. She's capable of using a dog door but seeks companionship and so won't go out alone. She will go for a daily walk but is slow and cautious.
Sury can be very playful with toys and other dogs. Her favorite toys are a Kong with a dab peanut butter, a fuzzy crinkly rabbit, and a squeaky fur ball that she totally dominates. She's diligent in keeping her teeth clean with chews but doesn't have obsessive or possessive desires some rescue dogs may show. She doesn't overeat and has a limit on her treats.
Sury is still adjusting to being blind and would most likely do well with another dog in the home to help her function as time goes on. A less active home may be preferred over chaos. She knows that her purpose in this world is to share love and watch over her family. Though she can't watch with her eyes, her other senses will do that admirably!
