Twelve year old Slick's owner who had him since 8 weeks old passed away. Slick lived in only one home his entire life. He is a handsome black beauty learning how to be a real dog; play, jump around, get the ball. He is always working on his self-confidence. His health and energy is that of a 7-8 year old dog. He likes to be in charge, but when corrected by his human, he appears to hang his head in shame and you can't help but feel guilty. He is cautious with new things and places; when he feels uncertain he will give a soft cute warning noise. Slick was never house-trained and didn't have a yard, but is progressing in his foster home with other dogs very well. If you remind him to go “potty outside”, he will happily wander outdoors. He is living and getting along with dogs under 40 lbs, other dogs and cats are unknown. Slick would do best in a home where he can relax and not feel threatened, preferably where he would not be left alone for numerous hours as he gets lonely and will sing to keep himself company. Apartment living is not ideal for Slick as he never learned to walk on a leash and deserves a fenced yard to run free. He should have another dog to learn from and to play with. Slick loves to have boundaries to earn human praises: "good boy". He absolutely loves soaking up the sun while laying outside.
