Pretzel arrived as one of the 3rd group of puppy mill dogs we rescued in the Summer 2025. He is a 10-month old handsome, black, male cocker spaniel with a white stripe on his belly and a tiny white goatee on his chin. He is a smart boy who learned how to use the dog door immediately just by watching my dog go through the door once. He has mostly mastered doing his duty outside, which he learned from my female pooch so he pees like a girl! He may still have accidents inside until he is used to the routine. He also needs leash training and is steadily overcoming his skittishness with people, loud sounds, quick movements, and things he is unfamiliar with. He is very canine-oriented and follows my older cocker around constantly (which, unfortunately, she doesn’t appreciate). I don’t know how he relates to children. He is now doing pretty well with house training, especially if he is escorted out rather than taking the initiative. Not great with leash or commands. He seems to be barking alot and seems to have a particular problem with men.
Pretzel would blossom with a loving family that includes other dogs closer to his age that he can frolic and hang with.
