Marley and Bob are a bonded pair.
Marley is a lovely and gentle dog that came into rescue with a horrid past. He was found in the desert near El Paso, Texas with another dog, Bob, and bag of dog food, both dogs in very rough shape and skinny. Marley had infected and matted cherry eyes. After several weeks in his foster home, and with great vet care, Marley got healthy enough to have cherry eye surgery and neuter surgery and a dental. His right cherry eye repair went well. But the left cherry eye repair did not hold because he has no tear production, resulting in very dry eyes. He is on eye drops several times a day and needs eye wash every morning. He tolerates it very well. It is possible that in the future his left eye might need to be removed if it becomes a comfort issue. His eyes are cloudy so his vision is most likely compromised but you would never know it watching him do everything he does daily. He handles stairs very well Marley will be on eye drops for dry eye on a long-term basis. He is healthy and has no other medications.
Marley is a joy to have around. He loves cuddling and would love to sleep in your bed, but he also does very well in a crate. He is patient, and kind. Does well in a car. Marley can be playful and will fetch a ball if he sees where it is tossed. Marley loves being outdoors scouting around the yard and sniffing for squirrels or birds. So, unless you will walk him a lot, please offer Marley a fenced yard so he has that opportunity to still sniff, look, and run. He does well living in a foster home with multiple dogs and seems to like their companionship. Marley does seem heard of hearing.
