Maggie will remain in the Recovery Room until medically cleared.
Maggie is a great dog. She is very loving and learns very quickly. She can easily be a dream dog in the right situation. She loves to cuddle with her fosters and loves to shadow her favorite human. She likes to sleep in the bed with her human as well and will happily greet you in the morning. She is housebroken but is a little skittish and has had a few accidents. She has issues walking on the leash but has improved drastically using an easy walk harness. Before going into a shelter Maggie had no leash experience, therefore she will need a fully fenced yard. An experienced owner will be able to work with Maggie.
Maggie is great at meeting new people and did fine with the children. She is very popular on walks and loves getting attention. Maggie sometimes has problems recognizing people. It also seems like she has weak hind legs because she has issues, jumping into the car and onto the couch. Maggie’s main issue is that she is very protective of her foster, and sometimes gets jealous and dominance issues with the other dogs which has led to a few scuffles. We have been working on curbing this behavior and she is showing improvement, but it would be best if she was in a home as the only dog.
