From a cage at a breeder to cuddles in Colorado — meet Lander, one of the original Cherokee 9 and a shining example of resilience. This stunning 1-year-old black Cocker Spaniel (with a perfect splash of white) is settling beautifully into his foster home and already showing what a smart, sweet soul he is.
Lander is house trained, learning to use the doggy door, and walks well on leash. He’ll sit on command, and while he’s still working on “down,” he’s eager to learn. He’s calm, affectionate, and laid back—a quiet observer of the world around him. While still a bit unsure of new people, Lander does well with slow, gentle introductions and has done great around adults, children, and other dogs.
He’s cautious, curious, and incredibly charming. Those soulful eyes say everything: Lander wants to connect, and each day he grows more confident, more relaxed, and more ready for a life filled with love.
His foster family is head over heels and may just be his forever family—but either way, this boy is destined to bring warmth and joy to the lucky hearts who welcome him home.
