Harley will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption.
Harley came to rescue after his owner passed away. He was living with two other dogs. Harley is a very sweet and gentle guy. He is very calm but takes a while to warm up to you. He walks on a leash very well. Always checking back to make sure you are there. He barks at other dogs as he walks by. Harley was timid at 1st, say for about 2 weeks he just wanted to be alone sitting with his face in the corner for the first week but slowly opened up. He will accept me as alpha during walks and enjoys being outside. He is an inside dog. He seems to like being alone. He is friendly to my dog until after dinner. Then he just wants his space. He will lay in proximity with him. After dinner he growled at my other dog and has snapped at him twice. If you ask him to stop, he will get up and move away. Don't try and interject you touching him will make him snap he just wants to be alone. Then he will come sit by you to apologize. It's very sweet. Harley has had 19 teeth pulled since coming to rescue. He is doing well with soft food.
Harley is excited to see me come home. He can be stubborn at times. If you tell him no, he will go and lay down in his place, his safe spot. He is energetic in spurts, but not hyper. He likes to take a lot of dog naps. He seems to enjoy company and is happy when I have guests. He is practically the perfect dog. He would be able to adapt to a loving, calm, environment. Being that he is black and white his personality completely matches his markings. Harley is a gentleman, perfect to take to a upscale event, or night on the town type in his “tuxedo”.
