Goblin is a shy, gentle soul who is just beginning to understand what love, safety, and comfort feel like. At only 9 months old, he came to us as one of the original Cherokee 9 and is slowly adjusting to life in a home. Progress comes in small steps—sometimes forward, sometimes a little back—but Goblin is learning at his own pace, and his foster family is walking beside him with love and patience every step of the way.
He’s still timid, especially around men, but is beginning to warm up—especially when his foster dad is lying down, which seems to make Goblin feel safe enough to show affection. With his foster mom, he’s already showing just how sweet and loving he can be.
Training is a work in progress. Goblin isn’t a fan of the leash just yet, and he hasn’t found a treat he loves enough to motivate training—unless you count Greenies, which he enjoys and help keep his teeth healthy. His foster family is continuing to explore ways to help him build confidence and feel more secure.
Goblin also has some medical needs in progress. He’s being evaluated for cherry eye and a condition in which his lower eyelids are turned inward, causing his eyelashes to rub against his eyes. Thankfully, there is a procedure that can correct this, and we’re working with our veterinary partners to ensure he receives the care he needs.
Goblin is not quite ready to go yet, but he’s in loving hands and making slow, steady strides toward the future he deserves. With patience, consistency, and a safe environment, this beautiful boy will continue to blossom.
