Geary is one of our recent mill dog rescues. He was initially fearful and anxious, figuring things out. Everything is new to him. Geary is adapting very well to his new foster home. He seems really stuck to me, follows me everywhere, and is eating well. He’s slowly getting the idea of peeing and pooping outside. He tends to follow the activities of my own two cockers.
UPDATE:
Geary is a very smart and affectionate pup who has come a long way since his puppy mill days! He craves attention and stays very close to his humans. He really craves almost constant attention but does settle down during our mealtimes and when we go to bed. He is a hearty eater and loves playing with toys. Geary is crate trained; he tolerates the crate but really doesn't like it. He does OK when we go to sleep at night and is not soiling the crate. He is good on a leash and obeys "sit" commands before getting a treat. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and seems to love everyone he meets. House training is a work-in-progress and is ongoing with some house soiling.
If you're looking for a playful and highly affectionate pup what will stick by your side, then Geary is an excellent choice! Geary would love another dog in the home. A fenced yard would be preferable for freedom to roam.
