UPDATE: Freckles had a behavior evaluation and is in need of some behavior modification prior to going into an adoptive home at this time. He needs a little more time with his foster who will be able to communicate the training methods to a potential adopter.
Freckles is a wonderful little guy with a strong zest for life! He is very energetic and likes to bounce on all fours when he’s excited. Freckles loves to cuddle. He is quickly learning his basic commands like sit, down, stay, etc. He’s very good on a leash and doesn’t pull, he just needs to be directed where to go when he’s excited as he sometimes walks directly in front of you. Freckle is used to being crated but much prefers to hang out with his other dog friends. He is very good with all other dogs and cats and will happily play with them!
Freckles was rescued by a good samaritan in Arkansas and surrendered him to RMCR. Since his arrival, his foster family has learned about Freckles and his unique needs. He has some separation anxiety and barks when left at home. Because of this and his high energy level, Freckles needs to have a home with a fenced in yard. He’s happy with his foster but gets nervous around new adults. He wants to protect “his person” and has nipped at people when anxious. Freckles is NOT ok around children. Also, Freckles will be evaluated by a trainer so that these issues can be addressed. With the right training and understanding of his needs, Freckles will make a perfect companion for a lucky adopter.
