Echo will remain in the Recovery Room until he is cleard for adoption.
Echo is very loving and committed to his person. He has spent 2 weeks with an 8-year-old German Shepherd and other dogs of varying sizes. In the beginning he was quite bossy and not too friendly. The Shepherd showed him there could only be one Alpha in the house and they both understood that it is me. In the first 3 weeks Echo was with me, I did not witness any biting. He exhibited anxiety only once when multiple stimulus of hunger, tiredness, and needing to potty were present simultaneously. He wants to be by my side. As far as resource guarding, I can take his food or toys from him - no problem He will retrieve and drop a ball. He will share toys with other dogs, no guarding issues. Echo is a new and better version of himself since coming into foster care. He is housetrained. He will stay in the crate but is not happy about it.
Echo has shown consistent adjustment to his new environment. After his recent dental procedure, he seems even more comfortable. He must have been in considerable pain before his dental when he had several extractions. Echo gets along with all dogs after he gets to know them. Occasionally he will show displeasure to oncoming dogs when walking. He has been introduced to many neighborhood dogs and has appeared to want to get to know them better.
Echo's History: Echo has had a couple of homes in his life, both of which he had to leave due to family life circumstances. He has a history of stress / chronic anxiety / resource guarding behaviors. His prior vet stated his behaviors were likely due to learned behavior due to previous housing situations where he learned to bite in response to fear.
