Charlie will remain in the Recovery Room until he is cleared for adoption.
Charlie is sweet and loving. He always seems happy. He’s a good eater but could lose a few pounds. He loves to be petted and eager for attention. Charlie is a true Velcro cocker with some separation anxiety. When I leave, he will go to the door and bark or go outside and bark at the gate. Charlie loves to sleep on the bed or jump on your lap as he wants to always be close. At first, he’ll want to jump with excitement but tell him down and he stops. He gently takes treats and knows basic commands. When a door or gate is opened, he listens if told to stay. He plays fetch with a ball and brings it back. Charlie is good on walks but does get excited and pull when he sees another dog. He needs a strong grip when he sees another dog. He very quickly learned how to use a doggie door. He is good on car rides and loves looking out the window. Charlie has been an excellent role model for our other foster that fears just about everything. She watches him closely and has learned how to play with toys and seek attention. Charlie loves playing with his toys.
Charlie would do well as only dog in the home or with another dog, and a family who can keep up with his energy.
Charlie's History: What we know from Charlie's prior owner: Charlie can be such a lovable dog with children can be excited but is never mean or aggressive. He loves attention. He is quiet and does not bark too often. He knows tricks he knows basic obedience commands and is a very fast learner and enjoys learning new things. He grooms well and baths. He does not care for his nails being done and does get nervous but getting better with every trim. He is healthy and no medical issues. He is a good eater and not food aggressive at all. He will chase squirrels for fun in our backyard. And seems to like them and to chase them up the trees. He is good on walks but could use some formal obedience work on leash. . He likes everyone men, woman, children. He is a gentle boy and like to play with toys and chewies. He loves sleep on the bed but is also crate trained. He is a Velcro dog.
