My name is Buddy, and my name says it all, as I will be your best buddy for life! I am gentle, unassuming, and want nothing more than to please my humans, and be loved by them. I
was found wandering in a cemetery, and during intake, my fur had grown SO much, that I had to be
sedated in order to be fully groomed. It was a close shave too, thankfully my foster mom had a warm
fleece jacket for me to wear until my fur started growing back! I have done very well trying to figure things out and settle in the best I can. I have been through a lot of changes in the short time I’ve been alive, but I am confident that I now have a steady and solid foundation on which to re-build my life!
Speaking of life! Do you like to run, hike and keep active? I would love to do all those things and more with you! I am a tad larger than an average Cocker, with long legs, so I am able to easily keep up on long runs and hikes. I am working on my leash skills, and my new harness really helps. I am super smart, and I listen well, so if you will consistently work with me, I’ll have it down in no time!
I am also more than content sitting and cuddling with my humans all day long. My foster mom calls me her shadow, cause I like to be by her side whenever she’s home. I am an extra sweet boy, who loves to be loved! I get along with male and female humans, but am cautious at first, with new people I meet. It doesn’t take long for me to warm up, and ask for loves and pets though! I have been living with three teenagers, who sometimes irritate me, but I let them know in a nice/subtle way, that they are moving toward me too quickly, or doing something I don’t like. I love walks, squeaky toys, car rides, fetching balls, “hunting rabbits,” and I especially love treats! I come with my own brand new harness, assorted neck ties and bow ties, as well as several of my favorite toys!
Last but not least, let me tell you about another thing that makes me extra special….Before I was taken into the rescue, RMCR had rescued 1699 dogs. I WAS NUMBER 1700! That’s right—including me, RMCR has rescued 1700 dogs since they began in February, 2009!!
