Bob is a beautiful Cocker that came into rescue with a horrid past. He was found in the desert near El Paso, Texas along with another dog and bag of dog food; both dogs in very rough shape and skinny. Bob had infected and matted cherry eyes on intake. After several weeks in his foster home, and with great vet care, Bob got healthy enough to have cherry eye surgery and neuter surgery and a dental. He looks 100 % better and is a happy, active, and very friendly dog. He is still in the recovery room until his cherry eye surgery heals but that will be soon.
He is a joy to have around. He is bright, self-assured, and very social. His eyes are cloudy so his vision is most likely compromised, but you would never know it watching him do everything he does daily. He handles stairs very well and does well in a car. Bob can be playful and will fetch a ball if he sees where it is tossed. He loves being outdoors scouting around the yard and sniffing for squirrels or birds. So, unless you will walk him a lot, please offer Bob a fenced yard so he has that opportunity to still sniff, look, and run. He does well living in a foster home with multiple dogs but can be dog selective.
Bob will be on eye drops for dry eye on a long-term basis. He is healthy and is on thyroid medication daily. He loves cuddling and would love to sleep in your bed, but he also does very well in a crate.
Bob will be ready for his forever retirement home very soon. Might your home become his too?
