Ivan is cleared for adoption.
Ivan is one of the recent Cherokee Release dogs. He is wondering all about the new world he has discovered.
UPDATE 05/18/2026: He is such a sweet boy and I must admit we are getting more and more attached to him and he to us. He doesn’t like to be left in a room without us for very long (still not exploring on his own though). And he’s starting to be generous with puppy kisses, which melts my heart. My adult son came for a visit and Ivan was shy but curious. He let my son approach and pet him with no issues. We haven’t had him around any young kids yet, which is another important step. But I’m not sure he’s quite ready for that just yet.
House training is coming along. Still no accidents in the house. He still doesn’t indicate when he needs to go out. But I have noticed he will sit up and glance at the door, especially if he’s in the dining room, which has the patio door to outside. So I take that as a start and take him out.
Ivan is taking leash training very slowly and just a few minutes at a time. I put it on him while we’re outside and just stand with him, move when he moves. Any hint of pressure on his neck and he stops and sits down. At least not frantically pancaking on me anymore.
