Teddy has a very affectionate, people-oriented personality. He bonds closely with his family and loves attention, playtime, and being involved in daily activities. He is smart, curious, and food-motivated, making him eager to learn and very trainable. He has typical puppy energy and benefits from routine, structure, and regular mental and physical stimulation. He is a young boy and has been learning to associate with other dogs while in foster care, along the way he has had some reactivity when overstimulated. He might bark or lunge at the other dog. If he is to be adopted to a home with another dog it should probably be another younger dog. He has some reactivity toward the older dog in his foster home.
Teddy is house trained and scratches at the door to go out. He is crated when the foster family leaves the home. Teddy seems to have some separation anxiety; he likes to be able to see everyone. He is very loving. Plays well with the neighbor kids and the dog next door. Leash walking gets better all the time. Teddy travels in the car well.
Teddy would thrive in a calm, structured environment with an owner committed to continued training and helping him build confidence. Given his age, his behavior has strong potential to improve with consistency, proper management, and positive reinforcement.
