UPDATE: Slater is cleared for adoption! He will be getting groomed very soon and will have new photos to post.
Slater is a cuddly, obedient, and lovable young cocker. He knows his name, come, sit, place, leave it, potty, go to bed. He has been around mostly women but has been meeting adults of all ages, both men and women, and doing well. He likes some men and rejects others. Slater has come upon children but only when they are on a trike, or when walking by a baby carriage, he was bothered by both. As gentle as he is, he will probably be ok around children but please do the introductions slowly with close observation. From day one he adamantly resisted the crate. We work on it daily; He will now go in searching for treats and will stay couple minutes. With time and consistency, he will probably feel more comfortable and spend more time in the crate when needed.
Slater is house trained 90% of the time. When he potties in the house, it is usually my fault by forgetting the 2-hour schedule. He is attached to me and Whimpers when I leave. So be prepared to work through some separation anxiety. Go slow and give him time. Slater will make his new owners very happy.
Slater's History: This handsome young boy had a hard start to his life, in a puppy mill. The fear he arrived with has slowly subsided. Slater has adjusted well to his foster home; he is inquisitive and has learned how to investigate. He is his foster's shadow and remains at her side all the time. Slater had a cherry eye repair in his left eye which healed well. Slater especially enjoys drinking the melting snow.
