Stricker is an adorable Cocker Spaniel who has made incredible strides since transitioning from a puppy mill to a home environment three weeks ago. Initially quite timid, he has blossomed into a confident, independent, and curious companion. With his stunning, "Fabio-esque" coat and soulful eyes, he is truly a head-turner. He is an active explorer who takes great pride in "patrolling" his environment. He possesses a calm, independent nature and enjoys surveying his surroundings. He has recently learned to go up and down stairs, which has opened new levels of exploration for him! He has developed a charming habit of "collecting" socks, which he carries around as part of his daily routine.
Canine Compatibility: Stricker is highly social with other dogs. He has formed a strong bond with his three-year-old foster brother, Jerry, often following his lead during yard rotations. A home with a confident resident dog would be ideal to help him continue navigating his new life.
Crate Training: He is fully crate trained and views his crate as a secure space, sleeping soundly through the night.
House Training: Stricker is currently working on his house-training routine. He is making excellent progress and responds well to a consistent schedule.
Ideal Home Environment: Stricker would thrive in a patient household that can provide him with the structure and grooming his beautiful coat requires. A fenced yard is preferred to accommodate his love for outdoor exploration and "patrols." Please also give him a caninc companion in the home and a fenced yard. Because of his background, he would benefit most from a family committed to positive reinforcement as he continues to build confidence.
