Vice is one of the recent mill dog rescues. He has settled into his foster home very well.
Vice is a sweetheart and is just now learning to be a puppy. Although Vice can be
shy at first, he quickly warms up to new people. He loves attention and adores having his ears
scratched. Once Vice is comfortable with a new person he will literally climb up in their lap. With
Vice’s calm and laid-back demeanor, he would be a candidate for a future therapy dog. He is very
much an old soul in a puppy body. Vice does prefer to have his people with him and will follow you
everywhere like a shadow sometimes so close he bumps into you.
Vice had a cherry eye on his left which was surgically removed prior to coming to RMCR. This does not affect his vision but he will most likely need eye drops in the future to prevent dry eye.
Vice is working on his house training and will need to be on a schedule. After only a few days he is
going to the door when he needs to go out but still needs to be reminded and watched. If he is in his
crate, Vice will bark and let you know he needs to go out. Although Vice had no idea what a leash was when he came to foster care, he now walks on a loose leash and has learned to sit and down. He will do anything for treats and positive reinforcement which makes for easy training. Vice loves going for long walks so would make a great hiking/walking companion. Car rides are not his favorite, but I believe with time he will be more comfortable. Vice is learning to love playing with toys. He will chase a ball and is starting to bring it back for more play. Vice loves playing with other dogs and will run with them when invited. Vice is currently submissive to older dogs and shows no sign of aggression.
