Chandler is getting adopted by his foster!
Chandler is a very sweet, laid back and friendly dog. He had been living outdoors all his life, with little attention shown to him, but we found he likes to be inside the house with no problems, as long as he has carpet to walk on of some sort. He is afraid of smooth floors and slides easily and awkwardly on them. He seems worried about getting in a car, but he rides well in a car, even though I don't think he has been in one before! He is scared at initial meetings. At first, he feared his new environment but settled in by day 2, doesn't know the dog door but looks interested in it, we take him potty regularly and he has not had any accidents. We kept him on a leash outside for the first couple of days because he was looking to escape over a 4 ft fence at first.
Chandler is alert and really wants to be loved and shown attention. When I picked the dog up, he was heavily matted and shy, and obviously scared. After a couple of days, I cut his hair and made a fuss over him and he's a changed dog, eats well, drinks water fine, although a little skittish if the other dogs are near when he's eating. He has a good appetite. He wags his tail with a leash on, and saunters around wagging his tail. He's not aggressive in the least with our other dogs. He's interested in the dog door, but don't think he's ever seen one before! All in all, I think Chandler is a wonderful dog, and really deserves a nice home, and with patience and love. He has settled in nicely.
