This little nugget is just the sweetest girl! She’s still very shy, but has made great strides while in her foster home! Skittles has overcome her fear of using the doggie door to access the back yard, and happily goes in and out as needed. Sometimes she goes outside just to sit on the deck, soak up the sunshine, and let the wind blow through her soft, golden fur.
Skittles does not bark, and she sleeps quietly through the night in her kennel. She’s feeling more confident about interacting with people and with other dogs. She wags her tail and gets the wiggles when her foster mom comes home, but she still prefers to keep her distance, snuggling on the couch with her canine pals.
Skittles really needs the time and space to trust humans – to know the hands reaching for her will not cause her harm. She’s gaining confidence day by day and will be a wonderful pet for a patient and loving family. Skittles is under 20 pounds and will do best in a calm household with no young children. She would likely settle in well with an older, calmer dog who can show her what it’s like to just “be a dog.” This little bundle of sweetness is eager to find her furever home! Are you able to give her the love she needs to continue gaining confidence and trust? Submit your application to adopt this little honey! A fenced yard is a must. She must be adopted with another dog in the home and in the general Denver area so she can have a slow introduction into the adoptive home.”
