I am Miss Dixie, and I am ready to be your sweet girl! I love to go on nice walks, I will prance right along next to you. No leash-tugging from me! I am fine going up and down the stairs, sometimes a little slower. We can go for drives just about anywhere. I like to sit up front and watch the traffic. I will bark at bikes, I don't like them. If you take me somewhere and I can get to the treat bowl, I am not shy about helping myself! Being outside in the warm sun is nice, but I'll need a shady spot with lots of water. My silky black coat can get hot. Balls and stuffed animals are fun to play fetch with. If you need a hug, cuddles or a warm wiggle greeting when you come home, I'm your dog! I will make happy squeaky noises just to be sure you know I'm glad you're back! (It's also to let you know I need to go outside for potty. If you have one, I know how to use a doggy door.) I won't get up on the furniture and I prefer to sleep on the floor with a soft blanket, by your bed.

If not already, Dixie will be micro-chipped, spayed (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on her shots prior to adoption. If you would like to meet Dixie to see if she is a good fit for your home, please fill out an Adoption Application online.
