This beautiful Red English Cocker Spaniel was loved and spoiled for the first years of his life. Since young toddlers have arrived into the home, he doesn't understand why he is not the center of the world anymore. Charlie needs a home with no kids. Most of the time, he is loving and likes to play, but has shown food aggression and resource guarding. Example: if he is on the couch or bed (an area higher than the child/dog), he claims this "higher-than-you" territory and will act out when a child/dog comes near.
Charlie is obedience trained and earned his Canine Good Citizen in 2011. He needs ongoing training to ensure he doesn't lose his "manners". He jumps on people when they enter the door and pulls on the leash more than desired. Charlie is a wonderful dog to be around when he knows he is not in charge. His jealousy and territorial issues must be managed by the right leader, needing just the right home. Did we mention he is house-trained, crate-trained and excels at obedience. He has great potential and lots of love to give to the right owner.
If not already, Charlie will be micro-chipped, neutered (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on his shots prior to adoption. If you would like to meet Charlie to see if he is a good fit for your home, please fill out an Adoption Application online.
