Milo

Milo has an adoption application pending.

This is Milo. Milo is around three years old and is an owner surrender.

Milo was surrendered because he was not house trained. We have him in a home with foster parents that are at home all day and are working to correct this behavior. We’re confident that with postive reinforcement, he will learn to go outside rather than in the house. It may take a couple of weeks to ensure he understands, but he should be ready for a forever home very soon.

Milo is neutered, micro-chipped, and is up to date on his vaccinations. Milo didn’t get along with the puppies in the shelter, so he cannot be placed in a home with very young dogs. When he was in the shelter, he shared a kennel with a Chihuahua, so he does get along with small dogs, just not puppies. We would recommend that he not be placed in a home with cats – just in case! We don’t know how he is with children, so we recommend that he not be placed in a home with kids under the age of twelve.

Milo’s foster parents say that he has some resource guarding issues, especially toys and affection (he wants it all!).  Although he does get along with other dogs, he might do best in a home where he was the only dog.  He craves attention, so he might do best in a home where one or both parents are home during the day.

Update on Milo:  Milo’s foster parents say that he is doing very will with this house training.  He is taken out regularly and has only had one accident in the house and that’s when he first arrived.  If Milo’s forever home was one where one or both parents were home during the day to reinforce this behavior – problem solved!
