Thumper
Thumper came to us from Wyoming where he and a few other dogs were found living in 3 feet of trash in a condemned house. This senior is a great companion who is a little hard of hearing, but will hear and obey louder voices. He is house trained and crate trained, although he prefers to sleep next to his people (like all Cockers). His age is somewhere between 9 and 12 years old, although he has good energy for a senior and loves to run around the yard, chew bones and carry around soft squeaky toys. Thumper fits right into the pack at his foster home, gets along well with other dogs and loves people. We first thought he was a Cocker mix, but now that he has been on a good quality diet for a few months, his fur has grown in soft, gentle waves and and his sweet disposition is all Cocker. Thumper appears to be an old fashioned, hunting style Cocker; a little taller and bigger than a typical American Cocker Spaniel.
Thumper’s health is excellent overall, but he does have dry eye so needs to be on daily eye drops, which help tremendously. He also appears to have an old, healed injury in his back leg that causes a little hitch when he walks, so slow, short walks are best for this gentle soul.
Thumper would love a home of his own with a yard to roll in and explore and adults who just want a best buddy who will lay next to them and keep them company. We expect that he has many healthy years ahead of him, so please give this charming senior a chance to make you smile every day.
He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
