Chloe has a pending adoption application. You can still apply with the understanding that she may not be available.
Announcing, Chloe, 4 yr old tri color from KS. Chloe is about 22-24 lbs and very fit.
She is very shy and timid, being a mill mama kept her secluded from all that is a puppy and dog.
She knows very few commands as yet, but we are working on that.
She is learning what toys are, treats and playing. We are working on her people skills as she is quite nervous around them.
She does not seem to be a barker as originally thought nor a piddler.
She does very well with other dogs, shows no agressions, is house and crate trained. We do not know at this time of her disposition around cats. She is working on leash training and is still wary of leashes.
Chloe is doing well getting a bit more socialized, but has quite a way to go.
She has finally got the hang of the electronic dog door and she is now eating all of her food and drinking plenty of water.
She is still very spooked with people moving around but is trying to come closer each time her foster Mom sits still and calls her name.
She finally accepting treats from hand. And her lil’wiggle tail does go prety fast when her and her foster sister “play”. She is not sure of the toys other than she likes herding them all into one room for safe keeping!!
She is a quiet, sweet and very timid little girl who needs time and patience with her to learn what life can be like.
She will be an Amazing family member for some lucky family one day soon.
Oh and did we mention, she is beautiful!!
All immunizations are up to date and she is micro-chipped.

May has an adoption application pending!
Meet May! In the couple weeks she has been in foster care, this two-to-three year old has seemed to adjust pretty quickly. She is very sweet and eager to please her people. She gets along well with other dogs and she doesn’t seem to care about cats once she knows they are part of the house. She is very attentive and responds to every sound in the house but will settle down when the house is calm. She is not a big barker but will let out a yap if she hears something out of the ordinary in the middle of the night. She is somewhat crate trained, meaning she will not go in on command but she will go in and stay in with very little protest. At night she sleeps with another dog in a confined area, and only whines a little at first and then quiets down until morning.
She seems to be house trained but her people need to pay attention to her actions when she is wanting to go out or she will have an accident near the door. May walks well on a leash so long as you don’t give her too much lead. She will walk beside you only pulling a bit when she smells something interesting. She seems to have a healthy appetite but it seems she was spoiled previously with people food. She doesn’t like to eat dry food by itself, so her fosters have had to mix in wet food in order for her to eat which has worked quite well. She is starting to learn commands but is definitely determined to find her own way of doing things. We have not seen her around children, so a home without toddlers is probably best. Overall she is a good dog that needs a good home with strong pack leaders and she will be happy.
May is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She will be microchipped for her new owner. She’s quite small at only around 20 pounds or so.
If you are interested in meeting May, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Muffin was released when her owner moved into a senior living center that does not allow pets. This gentle four year old is a real cutie. She loves children, gets along well with other dogs and cats, and will follow you everywhere. Muffin loves to play outside or pass the time with her toys. She is house trained. She has a keen sense of hearing and even pays close attention to unusual sounds coming from the TV. She is used to spending time alone but enjoys being around people and loves to be the center of attention.
Muffin is up to date with all of her vaccinations. She is spayed and will be microchipped for you. She is a mostly black and white tricolored pure bred Cocker Spaniel.

Marble is currently being considered for adoption by his foster family!
Marble is a two year old parti-colored male. He is an owner surrender and is not currently in the Denver metro area. The family is having trouble financially and wants to find a new home for him. There is also a personality issue between him and the family’s other older dog.
As you can see, Marble has a droopy eye. The rescue will have it checked out by our vet. We will also make sure he is up to date on his vaccinations and that he is micro-shipped. He is house trained, but is being kept out of doors during the day and crated inside at night. He is home trained, knows several commands and is good on the lead.
If you are interested in meeting Marble, please make sure you have completed an online adoption application.

Chance is a handsome 8-9 year old male that came to us from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He was dumped at the local shelter for unknown reasons. He grabbed the attention of the local Cocker rescue volunteer and she wanted to save him, but they had no foster space, so they called us. He traveled north to Kansas City and was then transported to RMCR.
Chance is a wonderful little guy. His only issue is that he has cataracts, so his sight is limited. He’s not totally blind and is not handicapped by his condition. He’s good with other dogs and doesn’t seem to be bothered by cats. He’s very loveable and craves attention. He loves to go on walks and loves to be by your side. He’s also quite fond of chew bones! He’s neutered, up to date on all shots and is micro-chipped.
Chance would do well in a home without young children who might not understand his slight handicap. Besides, he’s at an age where he just wants to enjoy life, not play full time. If you are interested in meeting this wonderful fellow, please complete an online adoption application.

Pebbles is a sweet tri-colored 5 year old cocker girl with gorgeous markings! Although she is not house broken, she is a good dog that comes when you call her. She is learning what grass is, how to walk on a leash, how to chase a ball and to climb stairs. She loves all of these activities!
She is extremely affectionate, loves to be petted and will snuggle right up next to you at night. She is micro-chipped, has had all of her shots and is spayed. She loves other dogs, cats and people (including kids!) and with a little training, she will make someone a wonderful companion. She is also learning that it is okay to take treats from your hand.
Are you the one to give this adorable little Cocker Spaniel a happy forever home?

Maggie is a sweet 21 month old female cocker spaniel with a loving personality. Her black head is offset by her white body and black patches. Her high energy personality fuels a love for running and exploring. Yet, she also loves her quiet time when she can snuggle up to you and enjoy your company. Give her a squeaky toy and she will play for extended periods. She is great with other dogs and children. She is also very close to her brother Scooby.
Maggie has been spayed, is up to date on all her vaccinations and is micro-chipped.

Koontz is a very affectionate little six month old boy with somewhat unusual coloration–he’s dark brown with some gold and white patches, and he is just beautiful. As you can see from his pictures, he loves rawhide chewy toys! Koontz came to us from Kansas where he was in a high-kill shelter and was hours away from being euthanized when he was relayed to us, but he immediately settled into his foster home. He’s initially more friendly with women than men, but was playing with his foster uncle in the yard minutes after they met. He is fully housebroken, crate trained, and chews nothing but his toys. He has a little separation anxiety, as shown by barking for a minute or so when his foster mama leaves the room, but settles right down and plays quietly with the other dogs. Koontz knows sit, off, come, wait and cookie, and loves to give kisses and play gently with feet. He is neutered, microchipped, and has all his shots. He’s good on a leash. He’s just waiting for his forever home now. Koontz would probably do best as an only dog.

Sammy is around two years old. He is a very handsome, gentle Cocker, thoughtful and well behaved. He is somewhat smaller in size than most and has a very attractive coat. He has a kind of Huck Finn personality. He can trick you into putting down the book and let him curl up in your lap. He lays very still. Just being near a welcoming person gives him sighs of contentment. He loves to play with other dogs. Should be good with loder kids but we’re unsure about cats. He is so accommodating he could be brought around. House training needs to be reinforced to continue his good habits. Will sleep in crate without fuss. If you want a companion to go with you through life with laughter and love, look no further.
Sammy will be up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped before being adopted. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Barcelona (we call him Bart for short) is a lively Cocker mix –we think he might have a little Australian Cattle Dog in him based on his coloring and coat texture.
His story is one of the reasons we do rescue: he was seen being thrown from a moving car in Missouri! He was adopted by a kind lady here in Colorado and has had him for about a year, however a change in family dynamics is proving to be a hardship on Bart. He is very comfortable with his owner, but he’s not so fond of male family members and grandchildren. Sadly, she has decided that he would be better off in a home without kids, and preferably with a single woman.
Bart is healthy, up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. He is house trained and does well on a leash. He lives with another male dog and gets along well for the most part, but he would like to be the only dog in his person’s life. We’re not sure how he would behave if he were paired with a female. We’re not sure about cats, so a cat-free home is most likely in order. He has most likely had some training in the past. He has a toy box and loves to get into his toys and drag them all out and sit in the middle of them.
If you are interested in meeting Bart, please complete an online adoption application.
