Lucy was presented to us as a Cockapoo, but we honestly don’t see much Poodle in the mix. Her muzzle appears a little more pointed than that of a traditional Cocker Spaniel which may indicate some mix breeding. She’s a wonderful little buff-colored girl who is very loving and fairly laid-back for her approximate three years of age. Lucy is an owner surrender that came in with her pal, Lucky, after the sudden and unexpected death of her owner. The wife works long shifts and cannot give them the attention they received from the husband who worked out of the house.
Lucy is up to date on her vaccinations and is micro chipped. She seems to do well around children and other dogs. We’re not sure about cats. If you are interested in meeting Lucy, please complete an online adoption application.

Lucky is a wonderful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Cocker Spaniel mix that came to us from an owner surrender situation. The husband was a work-at-home dad and spent a great deal of time with the dogs. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly and now the wife doesn’t have the same luxury of staying home with the dogs. In order for them to get the attention that they were used to, she has asked us to help find a new home.
Lucky is a very loving and lively little guy. At a recent adoption event, the tried to protect us all from the larger dogs! He gives kisses freely and is a joy to be around. He is house trained, does well on a leash and is up to date on vaccinations. He is also micro chipped. He came into rescue with a female partner named Lucy, but does not seem dependent on her. He does well around kids of all ages and smaller dogs. We’re not sure about cats.

Winston is a Cockapoo that came from a shelter in Kansas and was adopted to a family who very sadly must give him up due to allergies.
We have been told by the vet he is around 3 or 4 years of age. He is house trained, but does rely on a doggie door if left home alone. Winston absolutely loves people. He will follow you wherever you go. He does not care much for a kennel because he does not like to be away from people. He will find his own little spot at the end of your bed each night and and give you that feeling of security. He knows the commands sit, come, down, and occassionally stay.
You would think there was a little retreiver in him because he loves chasing a ball! He is great with children. Older children who could give him tons of attention would be best. An ideal home for him would be someone who loves to have a dog in their lap all the time and is willing to walk him often or play ball. He has a lot of energy. His biggest fault is his barking. He is very protective of those he loves. He does wear a citronella spray collar which helps control the barking. He knows when that is on he can’t bark but has a cute little grumble!
Winston is up to date on his vaccinations and is micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Kesha is a four year old black and white female Cocker Spaniel that is being surrendered by her owner. Kesha has decided that she wants to be the boss and does not get along with the other dogs in the home – a toy Poodle and a Cockapoo. Aside from her aggression towards these other dogs, she’s very sweet and loveable and enjoys cuddling with her owner. Currently, Kesha is in a foster home with another Cocker Spaniel and they get along just fine. Perhaps it’s just the smaller dogs that she wants to rule!
Kesha is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccines with the next round due in 2011 and the rabies towards the end of 2010. She is house and crate trained. She does cry for attention, but is satisfied when she’s acknowledged. She’s had ear infections in the past, so care will need to be given to keep these under control. She’s very gentle around children two and up, however we don’t know about cats.
If you are interested in meeting Kesha, please complete an online adoption application.

Sassy is a four year old black and brown female Cocker Spaniel that was a puppy mill mother that her current owners adopted from the Humane Society last February. She displays some typical traits of puppy mill mothers that will take patience and training to overcome. Along with the fact that there’s a new baby on the way, the owners feel that this new obligation will take time away from working with Sassy’s training and is looking for someone willing to give her the attention she deserves.
Sassy is crate trained and enjoys nesting in her crate. Due to her history, she has some house training issues that are resolved by using the crate. She is doing well on the lead, especially with the help of a gentle leader. She absolutely LOVES to play ball and is awesome at bringing it back and never seems to tire of the game. She gets along with other dogs, but we don’t know about cats. She should be fine with older children, but we would caution aginst toddlers just in case.
Sassy is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She’s super sweet and healthy, so if you are interested in meeting her or would like additional information, please complete an online adoption application.

Leeloo is an adorable mix of Chihuahua and probably Rat Terrier. We rescued her from a very crowded shelter so we have no idea how old she is, but she’s definitely full grown at a whopping seven pounds, and definitely young because she’s so energetic! She loves to play and run and likes to look for mischief (she definitely requires a fence), then when she’s tired she just wants to crawl up on your lap for a nap. She is very affectionate and sweet, and she’s submissive to other dogs but may be too much if you have an older dog in the house, which is the issue we are having. She got the hang of using a doggie door very quickly, and is now nearly accident free with the potty training, but we are still working on it.
We do not use a crate so assume she doesn’t have any crate training. And we don’t have cats or kids around so we can’t say how she is around them but she’s just generally friendly. She is spayed and micro-chipped, just had her teeth cleaned, a heartworm test, and all her vaccinations. She will make a great little lap dog and companion for somebody who has plenty of time to help her expend all that energy!

Pistol is a five year old male Cocker Spaniel that is being surrendered by his owner. They recently took him in when his original owner experienced some hardships, but it seems that he is not getting along with the resident Jack Russell even though he grew up with other dogs and got along with them very well. He is very sweet with a great personality and would do well with another dog companion.
Pistol loves playing ball and going outside. He also enjoys walks. He will lay next to his owners on the floor. Although he is house trained, he does have some issues with marking, but he is not yet neutered. Once neutered, that should resolve some of those issues and training in that area will also help. He’s still young enough to change those behaviors.
Pistol will be micro-chipped, neutered, and up to date on all of his vaccinations prior to being adopted. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Sammy is around two years old. He is a very handsome, gentle Cocker, thoughtful and well behaved. He is somewhat smaller in size than most and has a very attractive coat. He has a kind of Huck Finn personality. He can trick you into putting down the book and let him curl up in your lap. He lays very still. Just being near a welcoming person gives him sighs of contentment. He loves to play with other dogs. Should be good with loder kids but we’re unsure about cats. He is so accommodating he could be brought around. House training needs to be reinforced to continue his good habits. Will sleep in crate without fuss. If you want a companion to go with you through life with laughter and love, look no further.
Sammy will be up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped before being adopted. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Hurry! This the sweetest, funniest, cuddliest dog!!!! If you want the good humor and love of a puppy that is housebroken and friendly with other pets and people, Bailey is your dog. He is Peter Pan at his best. He plays with balls and stuffed toys with happy energy and sleeps as if he turned off a switch. His heart is in anything he does. With long agile legs, he often walks across the floor on his back feet, head held high with the grace of Fred Astaire. His tail is long and very fancy. Like a boa, It swings and curls up and wags furiously. He is definitely one of a kind and you’ll wish that wasn’t so because so many people will want one just like him as you introduce him to your friends. He is Just barely house broken so you will have to follow through and if you want, He happily sleeps in a crate, except you will want to be near him constantly! Hard not to spoil this one! We recommend a home without toddlers as Bailey tends to jump up for affection and may knock them down. He’s great with kids eight and older.
Bailey is up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Bailey, please complete an online adoption application.

Introducing Cocoa–a sweet chocolate colored Cocker boy of around 4-5 years. He is sedate and affectionate, calm and loving. He chews nothing but his food and toys, and loves having his tummy scratched. Cocoa gets along well with other dogs, is crate trained, completely housebroken and up to date on all his shots. He has been neutered and microchipped. Coca know sit, come, off, and cookie! He hasn’t been to an adoption event yet so we don’t know how he is with children, but he has done very well with visitors to his foster home–other than trying to lick them to death! Cocoa has some really droopy eyelids. We are having them checked out by our veterinarian.
If you are interested in Cocoa, please complete an online adoption application.
