Ansil is a three year old male. He is white and tan. He came to us from Kansas where he was rescued from a shelter and spent three weeks in a foster home there. We don’t know much about his life before that.
He now lives in his foster home with two other Cockers, one large dog, and two cats. His human family includes a seven year old boy and a three year old girl. Ansil is very sweet and very smart. He is just waiting to bond with a forever friend. He loves to cuddle in laps and is very interested in everything that happens in the home and in the yard. With time he will be completely housebroken. He is neutered and up to date on all shots. RMCR will microchip him for you.
If you are interested in meeting Ansil, please make sure you have completed an online adoption application.

Marble is currently being considered for adoption by his foster family!
Marble is a two year old parti-colored male. He is an owner surrender and is not currently in the Denver metro area. The family is having trouble financially and wants to find a new home for him. There is also a personality issue between him and the family’s other older dog.
As you can see, Marble has a droopy eye. The rescue will have it checked out by our vet. We will also make sure he is up to date on his vaccinations and that he is micro-shipped. He is house trained, but is being kept out of doors during the day and crated inside at night. He is home trained, knows several commands and is good on the lead.
If you are interested in meeting Marble, please make sure you have completed an online adoption application.

Hi! My name is Jory, and I’m a one year old boy looking for love. Despite my rough start to life, I am still full of joy that I want to share.
I was just a pup when I was dumped at a high kill shelter in Nebraska. I didn’t find a home in time so I was down to my last days when a beautiful soul decided I was too amazing to leave this world without ever knowing what it’s like to be loved by a family. A vet clinic offered to board me while they looked for a rescue to take me. I’ve waited a long time but I am finally safe! I’m so thankful so many wonderful people worked so hard to save my life. I am now enjoying life in a super comfy house and I love it! I adore my foster parents and I have been the very best boy I can be for them. They have another foster dog and I really like having him around to show me the ropes. I haven’t had much experience with playing, but I’m starting to learn that it’s fun to romp with my foster brother and am starting to show a little interest in toys. I thought the cats were going to be fun to play with when I first moved in, but I learned very quickly that I am only supposed to look at them. I’m very smart, you see! I really like living here and I love my foster parents very much, but they told me I am just waiting here until my forever family finds me. I will be sad to leave them, but I am looking forward to meeting my family that will love me forever and ever.
My ideal home would be with a reliable, loving family. Because I’ve had a rough start, I can get worried if you leave me for too long. I am learning that a family loves me and will always come back for me, but I would not do well in a home where my people are gone for long periods of time. I am still quite young and would enjoy a family that gives me time to be active with them before settling down to hang out as a family at night. I do really well with other dogs that are nice to me, and I do fine with cats too! I’ve met some kids in my new neighborhood, and they seem like nice little humans to have around. I’m such a gentle soul that I would probably do well around any creature that is kind to me! I’m also quite the looker with my red, luxuriously soft coat. And of course, I’m neutered and up-to-date on all my shots! Also, when you’re ready to take me home, I’ll have a microchip that tells people I’m all yours. Hopefully you like what you see and will come to meet me soon. I’m ready to start the life a good boy like me should’ve had all along!

Hi, I am Charlie. I am a young male Cocker Spaniel, between one and two years old and I have my entire tail! I had a very tough start in life. I was mistreated by my previous owner. I was left outside and barely fed. Fortunately, someone took pity on my and I was rescued and brought to Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue.
When I first got to my foster house, I didn’t want to come inside and had no idea what steps were. I quickly learned that I can do both and love it! Despite my tough upbringing, I am an incredibly loving little boy. I love to be with other dogs and play with them. I also love to have my person scratch me for hours.
As you can see from the pictures, Charlie is a gorgeous black and white Cocker. He is up to date ono his shots and will be getting neutered prior to adoption. He’s also microchipped. He is very excitable when on a leash and he sees other dogs. He wants to play with them all!
If you are interested in meeting Charlie, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

DaVinic has an adoption application pending!
Hi, I am DaVinci. I am a black male Cocker Spaniel and I’m only around a year old. Despite my heavy coat in these pictures, I am a very muscular boy. I’m getting a haircut soon! I am, however, an absolute lover. I enjoy being with my people all the time and getting loving! I also get along well with other dogs and want to play with them all the time. I came in from Utah and am so happy to be back in a home with loving family. I have been neutered and am up to date on my shots. They even tell me they will chip me before I am adopted, whatever that means.
If you are interested in meeting DaVinci, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Fudge is a 10 month old chocolate cocker that is looking for a home without children and where he will be the only dog since he is very protective of his food and toys. He is competitive and playful and loves his chew toys. He enjoys playing in the yard and is a graceful runner that loves exercise. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He enjoys lots of attention and care, and will benefit from a dog obedience class that will rein in his youthful exuberance. Fudge will reward an owner that gives him consistent direction and loving attention.
Fudge is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. RMCR will ensure that he is microchipped for his new owner.
If you are interested in meeting Fudge, please make sure you have completed an online adoption application.

Skipper is a three year old male Cocker Spaniel that came to us from one of the Denver shelters. He’d been picked up as a stray and no one claimed him.
Skipper impressed the folks at the shelter because he seemed to know basic commands. He also did not soil his kennel, preferring to wait to go outside to do his business. With reinforcement, praise and consistency he will most likely be fully house trained. He was neutered when he came into rescue and has had all of his vaccinations. RMCR will microchip him for you.
He is very friendly, likes to go on walks and be with you and follow you around. He has a long tail that doesn’t stop wagging. He appears that he should to be an only dog. He is very, very possessive of tennis balls and he loves to play tug of war. Because of his possessiveness, we recommend that he not go to a home with small children. We’re not sure how he reacts to cats, so a cat-free home is probably best.
If you are interested in meeting Skipper, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Cooper is a six year old white male Cocker Spaniel. He has a full tail and weighs around 29 pounds. Cooper is hearing-impaired and may be totally deaf, although he gets along just fine. He was badly matted when he was found so we don’t know how long he had been stray or what his living conditions were prior to being picked up. Cooper traveled all the way to Denver to find a new home. He is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations. RMCR will microchip him for his new owners.
He is a real lover. The only thing he desires is attention and love of his person. He doesn’t want just a little scratching; he wants long term attention! He is good with the other dogs and doesn’t display any aggression at all. So far, he seems to be housebroken and knows that the outside is where you do your business. Cooper would make a fabulous addition to any home looking for a devoted pet.
If you are interested in meeting Cooper, please make sure you have completed an online adoption application.

Meet Charley! He’s around eight years old , while with black markings, and is looking for a new home because his owners are relocating and cannot take him along. Shhh! – don’t tell his owners, but Charley told us he likes Colorado anyway.
Charley is around 40 pounds, is house trained and crate trained. He has a lot of energy and sticks close to home. Over the years he has become afraid of thunder but is happy to wait out the storm in his crate. He’s great with kids, cats and other dogs.. He is well trained as he has had both obedience and home training. Although he has been taught to perform well on a lead, he hasn’t been walked in awhile, so his new owners would need to work with him to remind him of these skills. He is completely up to date on his vaccinations (rabies due in 2013).
If you are interested in meeting Charely, please make sure you have completed an online adoption form.

Joe is a sweet, affectionate, buff-and-white, male American Cocker Spaniel. We estimate his age to be approximately 3-4 years old.
Joe was surrendered to the shelter in Phoenix and is coming to RMCR. He is not excessively energetic; however, he loves romping in the yard with other dogs and tries to play cats. He plays well with children as young as 5-years-old. He’s a little shy at first and somewhat insecure until he gets to know someone new, but once he warms up he is just a lover who enjoys people’s attention. He loves to play with balls and squeaky toys and he is learning tug-of-war with the other dogs. As you can see by his pictures, he loves rawhide chewies, also!
Joe does have issues with men initially, but he can be sweet talked with gentle voices, petting and yummy treats. He warms up quickly and should not have any problems after an initial adjustment period.
He is house-trained and crate-trained and uses the crate voluntarily. At night he is loose in the house and does not have any accidents. This very gentle boy is learning his basic commands such as ‘sit’ and ‘come’, but only ‘come’ is solid at this point. He has not shown any resource guarding issues; his foster mom can take away his food or chew toy without incident. He is neutered and up-to-date on his shots, so he’s ready for his new forever home! If you are willing to work with him and socialize him to strangers, he will be a wonderful best friend for you!
If you are interested in meeting Joe, please make sure you have completed and online adoption application.
