Chrysy (short for Chrysanthemum) is almost eight years old and is finding herself looking for a new home. Her owner, who has had her since she was a puppy, has had to move into senior housing. The transition from a house with a big yard to a small apartment has been difficult on Chrysy. She’s black and white and weighs around 29 pounds.
Chrysy is spayed and fully vetted. She had a lumpectomy about five years ago, but has not had a recurrence. She is crate trained and leash trained, but does pull a bit. She’s initially a bit wary of other dogs, but warms up quickly. She enjoys attention from humans and prefers to be close by, sometimes even resting her head on her owner’s feet. She is a lovey lap baby. She loves playing with her stuffed toys, especially when someone with thrown them so that she can retrieve. She is a very gentle play pal.
Chrysy sounds like the perfect dog for a quiet home, preferably without very young children. Chrysy’s temporary home before coming to us had 2 cats and she did very well with them, if anything, they teased her. She is a very sweet lady and would love to be your lap warmer. Chrysy has the heart of a youngster and loves to play with you and her stuffed toy. She loves to ”puppy purr” at her toys when you try and get it from her. She is also adept at managing a dog door as well and is a pretty quite little lady exccept when she wants to eat and then those sad eyes and tiny whimper tells you its time. Chrysy will make the perfect loving lap baby for some lucky family.

This little cutie’s name is Aspen. She’s a Cockapoo and is around four and a half years old and weighs around 20 pounds. She is an owner surrender due to the fact that there have been changes in family dynamics and she’s not getting the attention she deserves.
Her owner thinks she would be best with a couple or single person who can devote their undivided love and time to her. She is a sweet gentle dog, in excellent health, is house trained, crate trained, has lots of energy, loves walks, and is good with other dogs and children. She is very social, wags her tail constantly, does well at the kennel and loves to ride in car. She is spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations until March of 2012. She is quite athletic and loves to run in the back yard.

My foster parents call me Guthrie the Wonder Dog. They told me that wonder means, “A feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, or inexplicable.” You see, when they first met me, I had no story to tell them so they wondered what kind of boy I would be. All they knew was that I ended up in a Salt Lake City shelter completely matted and very afraid. They were surprised after only one night with them, the fear was gone. They were overcome with a feeling of wonder as a beautiful soul came back to life in me.
You couldn’t ask for a better dog to join your family, really. I am loving and playful. I am young and handsome. I get along with all other four-legged friends whether feline or canine. Like most young and active pups, I probably shouldn’t be in a home with very young children quite yet, but I think I would enjoy playing with older kids. I love to play fetch and with balls in general. I really enjoy my toys and know the difference between your treasures and my own. Walks and playing outdoors are my favorite. Being outside with my people is the best time of day (well, besides meal time)! I am a good boy and I listen well. I’m very house-trained and know a few basic commands. My foster parents predict I will know more by the time you get me (I’m very smart, too!).
Although I can’t tell you about my past, it has had an impact on me. While I am a happy boy when I am with my family, I can still get scared around strangers (especially at the doctor’s office!). I really need to find a loving family that can help me feel secure for the rest of my life. I would do best in a home that has someone who knows how to be the pack leader and can show me the ropes in trusting all humankind again.

Announcing, Chloe, 4 yr old tri color from KS. Chloe is about 22-24 lbs and very fit.
She is very shy and timid, being a mill mama kept her secluded from all that is a puppy and dog.
She knows very few commands as yet, but we are working on that.
She is learning what toys are, treats and playing. We are working on her people skills as she is quite nervous around them.
She does not seem to be a barker as originally thought nor a piddler.
She does very well with other dogs, shows no agressions, is house and crate trained. We do not know at this time of her disposition around cats. She is working on leash training and is still wary of leashes.
Chloe is doing well getting a bit more socialized, but has quite a way to go.
She has finally got the hang of the electronic dog door and she is now eating all of her food and drinking plenty of water.
She is still very spooked with people moving around but is trying to come closer each time her foster Mom sits still and calls her name.
She finally accepting treats from hand. And her lil’wiggle tail does go prety fast when her and her foster sister “play”. She is not sure of the toys other than she likes herding them all into one room for safe keeping!!
She is a quiet, sweet and very timid little girl who needs time and patience with her to learn what life can be like.
She will be an Amazing family member for some lucky family one day soon.
Oh and did we mention, she is beautiful!!
All immunizations are up to date and she is micro-chipped.

Bear is a three and one-half year old male Cockapoo. He’s looking for a new home with a more quiet environment. He would do best in a home without children, or at least with children over the age of twelve.
Bear likes to help “parent” the children when they are misbehaving and tries to nip at them. The owners are concerned that he might eventually bite one of them. Most of the time, he is very loving and wants to cuddle with them, but it seems as if he gets a little over excited when they they do! Bear is an indoor dog who is house trained, crate trained but loves to go on walks and to go camping with the family. He goes to the dog park and gets along well with the other dogs there. He’s lived with a cat and it worked out well! Bear is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Chelsea is a senior female that is looking for a new home. Although she is around eight years old, it’s hard to tell by looking at her. She doesn’t have a speck of gray! She’s active and very loving.
Chelsea is a small girl, only around 20-25 pounds. She’s mostly black with a little brown here and there. She is house trained and can be trusted off-leash, although we always recommend that dogs be on a lead in high traffic areas! She does have a thyroid condition that requires her to have daily medication that is reasonably priced. She is spayed and will be up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped for her new owners. She is an owner surrender. She is a darling girl that responds well to her name and knows basic commands. She’s starved for love and hopes that you will be the one that will give it to her.

Puck has an adoption application pending!!
Hi there, my name is Puck. I’m so glad you want to learn more about me – hopefully you’ll like what you see! I came to Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue from a shelter in Pueblo. My previous owner couldn’t keep me anymore because of issues with his landlord. I didn’t understand much of that – all I knew was I really liked my person and my house and then I wound up in a cage in a scary place. A shelter is no place for a 5 years young, handsome boy like me! Luckily, some nice people came and got me out and they’ve been taking really good care of me. I got a haircut, my teeth cleaned and I’ve even lost a little weight! I’m all ready to go home with my new forever family and love them so much they’ll wonder how they ever lived without me.
You are probably wondering if I would be a good fit in your home. My foster parents tell me I’m a pretty amazing and easy-going guy. I already love you and I haven’t even met you. I love your kids, I love your cats and I love your dogs – basically, I’m a lover! If you would like to let me lie in your lap all day and pet me, that would be fantastic. If you’re a little more active, that’s okay by me too! I really enjoy my walks and I do just fine on a leash. Playing outside with you in the yard is really fun too. Swimming is another favorite pastime of mine. I like to swim with ducks in the lake at the park. Don’t worry, I would never hurt them, I just think they’re pretty cool! I am always happy when I am with my people so I will fit into a loving family and their lifestyle with no problem! As you can see, I’m a pretty perfect little guy. This is Pixie! And yup, she’s not a Cocker. Pixie came all the way from Sacramento as a favor to another rescue because she wasn’t in a no-kill shelter. Pixie is a 13 lb maltese/poodle/terrier mix. She is about 6 years old, and does well with other small dogs (and Cockers!). She LOVES to play ball, and has lots of energy for playing with toys and exploring the back yard. She sleeps in her crate or on a dog bed. She is housebroken, and is fine being left loose in the house (no doggie door!). We think she was a city apartment dog, because she tends to go potty on the concrete and is still figuring out what grass is for (so far, excellent for writhing on). She is a happy little doggy, and adjusted to her foster home almost immediately—hopping up on the couch to sit in our laps and get love. Her prior owners stated she is afraid of thunder and fireworks, and she’s not been afraid of anything in the house. Her coat is short and curly with touches of tan, and her little tail wags constantly. She responds well to being told no, and is not a barker. She walks nicely on a leash. She’s had all her vaccinations, is microchipped, and will be spayed shortly. Pixie is perfectly named—she is a happy, lively little girl who will bring joy and laughter to a forever home—hopefully yours!

Lady is just like her name–a little lady! After extensive surgeries, she is healthy, well, and a very happy 10 year old dog. She’s sedate, but romps with the other dogs when it’s playtime. She is hard of hearing but not deaf–she hears where I call “cookies” very well! Lady is very loving and adores sleeping on the couch next to her foster mama. She gets along great with the other dogs and cats, and is almost too well potty-trained: immediately after her first surgery she insisted on tottering to the potty pad: after that she insisted on going outside. Lady knows Sit, Come, and Off, Outside and Cookie.
She’s had an eye removed and is on inexpensive twice-daily drops in the remaining eye to prevent glaucoma. Of course, she doesn’t think she has a problem: she negotiates the house and the yard without a problem.
Lady walks well on a leash, chews nothing but her own toys, and is a total little love-bug! She sometimes gets grouchy when there are other dogs around that she can’t see, but gets over it immediately.
Please give our little Lady a good home. She is the sweetest dog ever made, with absolutely no behavior problems. Oops! I forgot: she gets into the kitchen trash container very cleverly and loves to eat used tissues. She’s fully vetted, spayed and microchipped and is ready to be your new best friend.

Marble is currently being considered for adoption by his foster family!
Marble is a two year old parti-colored male. He is an owner surrender and is not currently in the Denver metro area. The family is having trouble financially and wants to find a new home for him. There is also a personality issue between him and the family’s other older dog.
As you can see, Marble has a droopy eye. The rescue will have it checked out by our vet. We will also make sure he is up to date on his vaccinations and that he is micro-shipped. He is house trained, but is being kept out of doors during the day and crated inside at night. He is home trained, knows several commands and is good on the lead.
