Confetti

Confetti is approximately five years old. Confetti is white with black spots. She is as sweet as you can imagine and gets along with other dogs (after an initial adjustment period) and children. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations and is microchipped.

Confetti came to Denver from Kansas City where she was picked up as a stray. She was matted and suffering from an upper respiratory infection, so we did not realize that she had total hearing loss. She was segregated from the other dogs in her foster home, so that gave her time to adjust to her environment and meet the dogs without incident. At adoption events, she seems to be leash aggressive, charging at other dogs that invade her space, but this is posturing to protect her space. Once she is comfortable with the other canine companions, she gets along just fine. She has a unique coat, black and white with patches of buff on her feet and on her eyebrows. Most likely, her deafness is a result of inbreeding for coat quality by one of the many puppy mills in existence in Missouri.

Confetti has a fun personality. She “sings” in the car, making special sounds to remind everyone that she’s there and is enjoying the ride. She loves to watch out the window. At home, she loves exploring her yard and rolling in the grass. She is not the least affected by her hearing loss and just wants a permanent home where she can get all the attention she deserves.

Lady

Lady is an approximately 6-8 year old female that came to us from a shelter in New Mexico where she was an owner surrender.

She is a super sweet little girl who loves to be with her people.  She loves to go for walks, play with her red rubber ball, and cuddle next to you.  She rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash and harness.  She is housetrained and is fine left alone loose in the house, although she will howl for a bit after you leave, but eventually quiets down.  She sleeps on her dog bed and will stand by the couch and wait for you to tell her she can come up before she jumps up.  She is fine with all dogs and people of all ages.  Lady’s only flaw is that she is deaf, possibly from poor ear hygiene.  However, the only effect this has on her life with her foster family is that if she is sleeping, you must wake her up to tell her something—if she is awake she is right next to you at all times!  She knows that a slap on the thigh or clapped hands means ‘come,’ a picked up leash means ‘walk,’ a pat on the couch means ‘cuddle,’ a pointed finger and scowl means ‘no,’ and a wave towards an open door means ‘go out.’

Lady is up to date on her vaccinations, is neutered and will be having her teeth cleaned.  We will also insure that she is micro chipped. Lady is a sweet, loving little girl who deserves a forever home.  Can’t yours be that home?

Rio

What a sweetie pie! Rio is a very charming and handsome senior citizen. He’s an eleven year old black Cocker Spaniel. He is deaf so you cannot call him. He’s got some arthritis so he’s taking his glucosamine/chondroitin supplement. He loves food and will search your floors for any crumb you have left behind. He loves being with people and he gets along fine with dogs and wags his little tail while he visits with them. He acts like he wants to play too. He seems quite interested in cats, sniffing their nose as if saying hello and nice to meet you. He’s amazingly black for his age, hardly any gray hair on his face.  He is just a love bug. Don’t discount this wonderful fella for his age; he’s adorable. He is crate trained when he wants to be. Right now he sleeps in his crate, with the door open and he’s in a kitchen with baby gates. He’s doing well.

Rio is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations and is micro-chipped.
