Molly is a seven year old solid black female that currently lives in New Mexico. She is an owner surrender and would like very much to retire to the beautiful mountains of Colorado! She tells us that in her perfect new home, she would be the “only” dog and that there would be no other distractions like kids or cats. She says that she’s very nervous about the other dogs in her current home trying to take her food and her toys, not to mention the attention that she wants from her owner!
Molly is a sweet, submissive little girl. When she was younger, she had bladder stones and had to have surgery to remove them. Now she’s on a prescription diet to make sure this situation does not recur. Her owner says that she occasionally has accidents in the home, but when they go out of town and leave her with friends, she never soils their house, so they believe its the stress of her current home causing this behavior. She is spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She knows several commands such as sit, stay, come, and go to bed, which means go to her crate! She likes to go on walks, but gets excited and pulls a bit on the lead.
If you are interested in giving Molly a new forever home, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Marble is currently being considered for adoption by his foster family!
Marble is a two year old parti-colored male. He is an owner surrender and is not currently in the Denver metro area. The family is having trouble financially and wants to find a new home for him. There is also a personality issue between him and the family’s other older dog.
As you can see, Marble has a droopy eye. The rescue will have it checked out by our vet. We will also make sure he is up to date on his vaccinations and that he is micro-shipped. He is house trained, but is being kept out of doors during the day and crated inside at night. He is home trained, knows several commands and is good on the lead.
If you are interested in meeting Marble, please make sure you have completed an online adoption application.

Zebie is a small six year old female Cocker Spaniel that came to us from Utah. She weighs around 22 pounds.
Zebie is very shy, but is a total love. She may have come from an abusive situation because she tends to cower a bit and tends to stay close to her kennel until she feels safe in her environment. She would probably do best in a quiet home without young children or other energetic animals. We ‘re told that she gets along with cats. Her current foster home has a senior female Cocker Spaniel and they get along well. She is house trained and kennel trained (she loves her kennel!)
Zebie is spayed, will be microchipped for her new owners and is up to date on all of her vaccinations.
If you are interested in meeting Zebie, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Meet Charley! He’s around eight years old , while with black markings, and is looking for a new home because his owners are relocating and cannot take him along. Shhh! – don’t tell his owners, but Charley told us he likes Colorado anyway.
Charley is around 40 pounds, is house trained and crate trained. He has a lot of energy and sticks close to home. Over the years he has become afraid of thunder but is happy to wait out the storm in his crate. He’s great with kids, cats and other dogs.. He is well trained as he has had both obedience and home training. Although he has been taught to perform well on a lead, he hasn’t been walked in awhile, so his new owners would need to work with him to remind him of these skills. He is completely up to date on his vaccinations (rabies due in 2013).

Joe is a sweet, affectionate, buff-and-white, male American Cocker Spaniel. We estimate his age to be approximately 3-4 years old.
Joe was surrendered to the shelter in Phoenix and is coming to RMCR. He is not excessively energetic; however, he loves romping in the yard with other dogs and tries to play cats. He plays well with children as young as 5-years-old. He’s a little shy at first and somewhat insecure until he gets to know someone new, but once he warms up he is just a lover who enjoys people’s attention. He loves to play with balls and squeaky toys and he is learning tug-of-war with the other dogs. As you can see by his pictures, he loves rawhide chewies, also!
Joe does have issues with men initially, but he can be sweet talked with gentle voices, petting and yummy treats. He warms up quickly and should not have any problems after an initial adjustment period.
He is house-trained and crate-trained and uses the crate voluntarily. At night he is loose in the house and does not have any accidents. This very gentle boy is learning his basic commands such as ‘sit’ and ‘come’, but only ‘come’ is solid at this point. He has not shown any resource guarding issues; his foster mom can take away his food or chew toy without incident. He is neutered and up-to-date on his shots, so he’s ready for his new forever home! If you are willing to work with him and socialize him to strangers, he will be a wonderful best friend for you!

Riley is approximately three years old and he is a buff colored male Cocker Spaniel. He is an owner surrender.
Riley’s owner has found that he can’t spend enough time with him and he wants to find a home for Riley where he will get more attention and play-time. He’s quite small – less than twenty pounds and gets along with dogs and cats that have come to visit, plus he’s been good around kids. RMCR will ensure that he is up to date on his vaccinations and that he is microchipped for his new owner. He is house trained, but has the occasional accident, so his new owner will need to reinforce his house training with frequent, regular trips outside and lots of praise when he gets it right. He’s had problems with skin allergies, but generally a good kibble with a novel protein such as fish, venison or duck will help with that issue. He knows some basic commands and is eager to please.

Sadie is a four year old female Cocker Spaniel who is buff in color. She has lots of playful energy and would love to be with a family who will use the playful energy on walks or play time. She hasn’t been around small children so a family without would be preferred. She has been around cats and she likes other dogs and has been kept inside and out. She struggles with a lot of dribbling when in the house because of her high excitability. She isn’t fully house trained but does know a few commands. She is spayed and will be microchipped when or before adopted.
A family who can take the time to teach the very smart Sadie the standard house rules and have fun while doing it would be a great match. Being so playful, she needs to be reminded that not everyone is as playful as she is. Sadie would love to show you her affection, how about you?

Harley is a very affectionate, agile, and lively 1 year old boy Cocker. He’s a very lucky little boy: he came in from the shelter the day before he was due to be put down! Harley loves playing with rawhide chewies and balls, and gets along very well with other dogs, but should not be placed in a home with cats. He has been neutered, microchipped, and has all his vaccinations. Harley is house-trained and chews only on his own toys. He crates well at night. He knows come, no, off, and sit, and we’re working on other commands.
Harley has some separation anxiety when left alone, barking if he is in his crate during the day, or barking and pawing at the windows if he is loose in the house. This behavior can be trained, and will probably lessen as he becomes more secure in his environment.
If you are interested in meeting Harley, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

This is Buddy. He is a little over six years old and is an owner surrender. The owners had to move and are only allowed one small dog, so Buddy is currently staying with relatives.
Buddy is a little overweight, so he would benefit from a new owner that likes to go on walks – slowly at first so as to not overburden him. He’s not really good around children because he gets over-excited and jumps on them and scares them. He would do best in a quieter home with owners that can give him attention that he needs. He’s crate trained and house trained. He does lunge while on the lead, so he would need some training in that area.
He likes chew toys and to play fetch and knows simple commands such as “sit” and “lie down”. He is up to date on his vaccinations (due March, 2012) and is neutered. We’re not sure if he is microchipped, but we can take care of that once he is adopted.
If you are interested in meeting Buddy, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Minnie is a courtesy cross-post for another rescue. If you are interested in her, please use the contact information at the bottom of this post.
Minnie’s Story:
My name is “Little Miss Minnie Moo” (or so my foster mom calls me…). I am SO HAPPY to have been rescued, and am loving life in my foster home with my fellow Cocker Spaniel wigglebutts! They are so much fun! At first I wasn’t sure because all I have ever known is living in a crate my entire three years of life. I am so happy to be free and happy now, to play in the backyard with my new friends and to be petted and have my ears scratched by my foster parents. The only thing better? The only thing better would be to have my very own home and be loved FOREVER and never be homeless again.
I am only 3 years of age, a pretty black/white parti girl. I have been spayed, heartworm negative, I am housetrained, and all of my vaccinations are up-to-date thanks to the loving people at Rockin’ Paw Rescue. They tell me I am ready to meet potential adoptive families now! Please call and ask about me today.
