Mopsie

Mopsie is a very high energy three to four year old female wiggle butt. She is a people lover that is full of licks and unconditional affection. She loves people and has done very well with her foster’s eight and nine year old daughters. There are no concerns regarding her demeanor around children that are mature enough to not abuse or tease her; she loves her fosters daughters and has been very receptive towards them both.

She is a dominant female that would do best in a home environment where she is the center of attention. She wants to be a lap dog and would love to be on the couch with you. She is not allowed on the furniture in her foster home and they are training her to stay off the couch. She is responding well with an occasional firm reminder needed.

Exposure to cats is unknown at this time but we suspect that her dominance would not make her a good companion to a cat in the house. Perhaps in time they would become friends, but that would require some close supervision until she accepts the cat.

She wanted nothing to do with the foster’s male Cocker Spaniel who is quite a submissive male. After a brief and guarded introduction of 30 minutes, she accepted him and they quickly reached amicable terms once all the sniffing had been completed. She could do well with other dogs if the time is taken to properly introduce them and correct aggressive behavior. Her ideal home-setting would be as a single pet that gets lots of attention as she gives it just a freely. She is not a fence jumper, has not chewed anything inappropriate, and was quickly potty trained by my dog. Not a single incident after the first night which was territorial marking only.

All her shots are up to date, she is in excellent health, full of energy, and will make a wonderful companion. She does not know any tricks yet and has had minimal obedience or leash training. But she wants to learn and wants to please her master. With a small investment in training, this loving and energetic dog can be a perfect companion in the right home. She is comfortable in a crate and needs help with her leash training.

Boots

Boots is a young Cocker mix – possiblya Cockapoo.  He’s black with white markings.

His foster mom says he cuts a rakish figure with his spats and crooked grin.  After the excitement wore down when he first got to her home, the other dogs decided to take a nap on the sofa.  Boots sat in the middle of the room and looked at each of them, walked over to each one and looked them in the face before giving a play bow and tried to get them excited.  When no one stirred, he bounced out of the room through the kitchen to the back yard then out the pet door to find maybe some opportunities there.   He is a determined lap sitter but he’ll squeeze between the back of the chair and your back if you already have an occupied lap.  He is learning “Come” and potties outdoors but he needs help with “Stay’.  He is sure that that is for dogs that are less imaginative than him.

Boots is around 25 pounds and has a curly tail and infectious humor. He loves everybody.  H’e's neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped.  He settles into a crate after a few minutes, but prefers to be free!

Logan

Logan is almost ten years old and is looking for a new home.  Her family has had her for her whole life, but now that there are children, she’s feeling a little left out!  Also, the youngest is allergic to her.

Logan often gets mistaken for a puppy, and since Cocker Spaniels can live up to 16 years, she’s still fairly young!  She loves to play outside and go for long walks and chase balls.  She gets along with other dogs and cats, but would really like to live with a new owner that will spend more time with her and make her the center of attention.  She would also probably be fine with older children that would play with her.

Logan is spayed and will be up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped before she goes to her new home.  She’s house trained, crate trained and leash trained.  If you are interested in meeting Logan, please complete an online adoption application.

Prince

Hi! Prince here. I just wanted to say that my foster Mom is the best, but I have been waiting and wishing for a family that wants an only dog (my foster Mom has two already). You see, I don’t know how to play with other dogs or even people. I know how to throw my own ball and fetch and play tug of war with a round rope. But, you know, I heard that sometimes dogs have humans that play with them. Even small humans. I have good manners and never do outside chores in the house. I know how to use a doggy door so I can sit on the back porch and watch other humans go by with their dog. Every time my human sits down, I am right there by her lap if she needs something and I go to my crate at night and curl up with the door open. Couldn’t we meet at McDonalds and talk about it?

Prince is two years old,  up to date on all of his vaccinations, is neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Sophie

Sophie has an adoption application pending!!

Sophie is a beautiful sweet white female Cockapoo.  Most dogs think they’re lap dogs: Sophie is pretty sure she’s either a parrot or a headrest!  Her favorite spot is on top of the back of the sofa where she can snuggle against your head and give you the occasional little kiss.  Sophie is fully house trained and a very loving little girl.  She gets along with the other dogs, does great in a car, and walks well on a leash.  She comes when called and knows: sit, off, lie down, shake hands, and cookie.  Sophie is two and one-half years old, spayed, and has all her shots.  This little lover will find a forever home very quickly.

Sophie needs a home with older children.  She mistakes toddlers as competition and exhibits resource guarding around them.  She growls when they come too close to her toys and food.   She was very tolerant with older children at a recent adoption event.  We also do not know how she reacts to cats, so a cat-free home is recommended.

If you are interested in meeting Sophie, please complete an online adoption application.

Emma

Emma is a beautiful two year old black female Cocker Spaniel that came to Denver all the way from South Dakota in hopes of finding her new forever home.  Her foster mom describes her as a “go along” dog.  Time to eat? OK.  Time for bed?  OK.  Don’t potty in the house, use the pet door or ask to go out.  OK.  Just a sweet, nice, gentle girl.   She loves the back yard and doesn’t hesitate if you beckon her to your chair for petting. She gets along with everyone and should be good with children.  Emma is housetrained and is comfortable with a crate.

Emma is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed.  She’s just waiting for you to make her your very own.

If you want to meet Emma, please fill out an online adoption application.

Boots

Boots has an adoption application pending.

Boots is a picture perfect, black American Cocker Spaniel with a white streak that starts under his chin and ends on his chest. He also has a tiny bit of white on each foot, thus the name “Boots”. His adorable little face and head and big brown eyes are absolutely irresistable. Boots turned 3 years old at the end of December. His elderly owner found he had too much energy for her, so she surrendered him for a new home.

He is very friendly and loves people, but he does not like cats and he can be “amorous” with small children, so he will be placed in a home without either cats or young children.

Boots is house trained and crate trained, although he does not like the crate if his people are around and will fuss for awhile before settling down. He loves to sleep on the bed with his people and snuggle with them whenever possible. He also likes to sit on the driver’s lap while in the car. Boots wants to be the center of attention for his people and will growl a bit at other dogs who also want attention. This resource guarding behavior can be fixed through training, which his foster parents are working on.

Boots has been neutered and had his teeth cleaned. He is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. This fantastic little guy will not last long, so please submit your online adoption application immediately if you are interested in this boy.

Jovi

Jovi had an adoption application pending.

Jovi is 1-1/2 and loves to spend as much time as possible with his people. He likes long walks on the treadmill and outside. He loves toys but stuffed ones are quickly destuffed in minutes. Jovi prefers that all of his people be in the same room, if they are not he will go from room to room to check them all and make sure no one is missing. He bonds quickly with people although he is scared at first and needs his people to hold him and introduce him to new people but he quickly becomes friends. Jovi is strong enough when playing tug of war to pull a 150lb person half off of a leather couch, but when around a 3 year old will not tug hard enough to knock them down.

Jovi shakes with either paw, high fives with either paw, rolls over, and jumps 3-4 feet in the air while clicking his heels. He likes to sleep more during the day than at night. His favorite place is on the bed but he sleeps in a crate too. Jovi loves the animal planet channel and often looks behind the tv to find the animals. He loves jumping and trying to attack the hair dryer, vacuum, and carpet shampooer. Chasing laserlights are his specialty and he will jump 3-4 feet in the air to try to catch one. He loves to chase birds, and wants to play with cats but most won’t let him. He makes friends with most dogs easily and quickly. His groomer says he always picks a favorite dog of the day and that becomes his best friend for duration of his time at the groomer. He is submissive to other dogs and is always looking for approval both from his people and other animal. He loves to lay on his back with his legs in the air when on a bed. He naps often in the evening on a bed and dreams almost every night running and barking in his dreams.

Jovi loves car rides with the windows down, and his long ears flowing in the breeze. He does have some intolerances for venison and beef in his foods. After many foods and antibiotics to overcome a colon infection he does well with Rachel Ray’s Chicken dog food and needs a heaping tablespoon of plain yogurt every morning no matter what food he has. Everyone who meets Jovi loves him; he is beautiful and a true joy. He will add many moments of entertainment to any family. He loves to be chased and will try to get people and dogs alike to chase him.

Jovi does not like black hats, coats, or black bags. Once Jovi gets barking, it is hard to get him to stop, he is OCD and has a hard time getting off task.  A gentle leader collar works best when walking. Jovi is best corrected using the nape of the neck as his mother would to remind him who is alpha.

Jovi would prefer a companion pet but if he can not have that he wants a lot of time and attention. He is very affectionate and returns the attention.

Hubble

Hubble is a beautiful, young American Cocker Spaniel male who would thrive in a home with a woman and other dogs. He is a little shy around men and children and has not been exposed to cats, so his new mom will do him a world of good if she could take him everywhere and socialize him as much as possible. As with most young dogs who have not had consistent training, Hubble sometimes struggles with his house training; however, with consistent positive reinforcement he will catch on quickly.

Hubble has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations and is crate trained. His pearly whites are sparkling from a recent dental cleaning, so he is ready for his new home.

If you are interested in meeting Hubble, please complete one of our cnline adoption applications.
