Nixie

This is Nixie.  He is a two year old black male Cocker Spaniel.

Nixie was dumped at a church on a cold December evening in Missouri.  He somehow found his way to the local shelter where a kind-hearted woman saw him and got in touch with us.  We made arrangements to bring him to Denver where he now has a warm foster home, a handsome new haircut and is getting regular meals.  Nixie is a little shy, but is very curious and is starved for attention.  He loves to sit in your lap and lean in very close to be near you.  He gets along well with other animals and children.

Nixie is up to date on his vaccinations, is scheduled for a neuter, and is micro-chipped.  He’s comfortable in a crate, but would rather be near you.  He is working on his house training skills, but is very smart and will catch on with consistent reinforcement and lots of praise.  This little guy is looking for a loving forever home.

Molly

Molly is a 2-1/2 year old female Cocker Spaniel mix.  We don’t know her full pedigree, but she’s awfully cute.

Molly was surrendered by her owners for unknown reasons.  She is spayed and weighs between 30-35 pounds.  She is house trained and crate trained.  She loves to romp and play with other dogs. She enjoys walks and has not lunged or barked at other dogs while on the lead.

Molly is bit shy at first, but warms up quickly.  She’s hoping to find a forever home with loving parents and other dog friends.  Unfortunately we do not know how she would react to young children or cats, so perhaps a cat-free home with older children might be best, however we would be happy to introduce Molly to any family to see how she reacts.

Molly is up to date on her vaccinations.

Ulysses

Ulyses is a wonderful dog! He is happy and wiggly all the time. He came to us with pneumonia and was very sick. Now he is doing so much better and ready for his forever home. He is a fun loving 18 month old red/white parti-colored neutererd male Cocker Spaniel. He is great with other dogs and children. He is potty trained and crate trained and he has freckles to die for! He is still taking his antibiotics and the vet wants to give him a chest x-ray in another month but feels he is ready for adoption. He is up to date on his vaccines and heart worm negative. You will fall in love with this bouncy puppy dog!

Oliver

Oliver is a very well-behaved, sweet and affectionate four year old Cocker boy.  He is completely house-broken and crate-trained, and sincerely believes himself to be a lap dog.  Oliver is mellow and low-key, but loves to chase the occasional squirrel.  He knows sit, come, down, off, and cookie, and walks well on a leash  He has shown no aggression toward people or other dogs, and gets along well with cats.  He is loose in the house all day and night without incident.

Callie

I’m Callie, a gorgeous, petite, red three year old American Cocker Spaniel with a bleach blonde tuft on my head. My previous owner turned me in to a shelter because of personal problems, so I’m looking for my new forever home. I am about 3 years old, house trained and crate trained (although I prefer not to be in a crate; I fuss a little when I first go into a crate, but then I will settle down and be quiet). I LOVE to play with dogs and cats. I give my love and kisses freely, ride nicely in cars and am friendly with everyone, although I am a little shy of strangers at first. I know some basic commands and am constantly wagging my little tail showing everyone how happy I am in general.
 
My pictures just don’t do me justice. When you see how dainty and small I am (about 20 pounds) and see my long eyelashes and beautiful brown eyes, you’ll fall in love with me immediately. Of course, I am spayed, freshly groomed and up to date on all my vaccinations, so I am ready for you!

Cherokee

Cherokee is a black, American Cocker Spaniel, approximately five months old and ALL puppy.  He is the size of a full grown adult Cocker already, so he will be a large Cocker! He’s rambunctious, gets into everything, then throws himself down beside you to be petted.  He crates well but prefers the rug at the side of your bed. He is not 100%  housetrained, just mostly.  Responds to “no!”   No problem with cats or sturdy kids.  If he gets frightened, he throws himself on the floor, legs up, and screams like a girl.  Very, very cuddly.  Love in a black, joyous bundle.

Cherokee came to us from a senior woman that was unprepared for his activity level when she bought him from a breeder. (Don’t worry, we’ve placed a gentle, well behaved adult Cocker in her home and she now has the companion that she always wanted).  Meanwhile, Cherokee is learning how to behave, acquire  house training skills and, in general, how to be a proper gentleman.  He’s looking for a forever home with someone who will continue to reinforce these skills.  Patience and consistency will help this young lad grow into a wonderful family companion.

JoJo is a petite framed (18-19#), beautiful black and white parti Cocker/Cavalier (we think) kid, who absolutely loves to be the center of attention and love. This baby doll is a ‘love sponge’. She will follow your every footstep to stay by your side and be immediately in your lap when you sit. JoJo gets along wonderful with other dogs, but her main priority is her human companion. JoJo is spayed, and current on all vaccines. JoJo is crate trained, and quite solid with her house training.

Poor Baron came to me with severe eye trauma on his right eye. Sadly, it had to be removed, but don’t tell Baron. He doesn’t seem to miss it at all. This terrific dog is amazing. He is house trained, sweet and loving and well mannered. He crates well. He gets along with everyone and doesn’t demand attention from his humans all the time. He is a calm and laid back type of guy. Baron has been heartworm treated and is handling it well. What a beautiful coat and color he is. This dog will be a wonderful family pet. He is neutered and fully vetted. Will be groomed when the eye stitches come out.

Nattie

Meet Nattie, a loveable and sweet girl. One of our volunteers happened to be at Pike’s Peak Humane Society and saw the young man about to drop her off there. Her tail was tucked between her legs and she wouldn’t walk forward. She asked him about her and then told him she could find a good home for her. He agreed. She is not a Cocker Spaniel, that is for sure. But we want to find a special home for this sweet girl.  She is supposed to be a Red Coon Hound mix. We feel she also has yellow lab too. 

She is 8 months old, spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She is easy going and good with children. She has a playful side but is not a hyper puppy. She sleeps in her crate at night although at first tries to get her foster mom to set her free. She would make someone a wonderful family friend. She is very fun loving, loves all of my dogs and is undaunted by the grouchy warnings from my seniors! She is a quiet girl and does not bark much at all.

Pepper

Pepper has an adoption application pending.

Pepper is a four year old neutered male that came to us from Grand Junction.  He is very mellow and it is obvious that he was well cared for.  He will not jump on furniture unless invited and is crate trained, going in without fuss and curling up to sleep.  He gets along well with other dogs and cats.  He knows “sit” and really considers “stay” until it gets to be too much!  He is leash trained and does not pull.

Pepper is a pleasant dog that rarely barks.  We feel he would be fine around children of all ages.  He loves to play ball and would love to spend his life with someone that likes to throw balls.  He really lights up at thrown balls and squirrels.
