We think Squash was so named because of his coloring. He a three year old golden/red sweetheart who is a taller Cocker boy. He is a total lover and adores having his tummy rubbed! He know sit, come, off, down, and cookie, and we’re working on wait. He let us bathe him in the sink, use clippers on him, and trim his feet, so he should be fine at the groomer. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and microchipped. Squash likes chasing balls, but hasn’t figured out how to bring them back yet! He gets along well with his foster mom’s cats and the other dogs, and he spends all his time at her feet or on her lap. Squash is crate trained and house trained and waiting here patiently for his forever home.

Sassy is a four year old black and brown female Cocker Spaniel that was a puppy mill mother that her current owners adopted from the Humane Society last February. She displays some typical traits of puppy mill mothers that will take patience and training to overcome. Along with the fact that there’s a new baby on the way, the owners feel that this new obligation will take time away from working with Sassy’s training and is looking for someone willing to give her the attention she deserves.
Sassy is crate trained and enjoys nesting in her crate. Due to her history, she has some house training issues that are resolved by using the crate. She is doing well on the lead, especially with the help of a gentle leader. She absolutely LOVES to play ball and is awesome at bringing it back and never seems to tire of the game. She gets along with other dogs, but we don’t know about cats. She should be fine with older children, but we would caution aginst toddlers just in case.
Sassy is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She’s super sweet and healthy, so if you are interested in meeting her or would like additional information, please complete an online adoption application.

Here’s little Silver. His coat is chocolate with a silver sheen in the right light. He is a beautiful 4-5 year old boy who loves the entire world. He gets along great with cats, people, and other dogs. He is completely convinced he is a lap dog and loves attention, especially petting. Silver knows sit, come, off and cookie, and we’re working on other commands. He is crate trained but has free run of his foster home without incident. He chews only his own toys, is completely housebroken, and is a total Velcro dog who just wants to be at your side at all times. Silver has all his shots, and is neutered and microchipped.

Marley is a very affectionate and lively little one and a half year old boy. He loves chasing balls and squirrels and snuggling on laps. He knows sit, off, move, and come–and of course, cookie! He plays very well with the other dogs, shows no resource guarding behavior, is completely house trained and crate trained, and has gotten along very well with the adults and children who have petted him at rescue events. Like many dogs, he loves to shred tissues, so we keep the box off the floor! He has all his vaccinations, is neutered and microchipped, and would love to shower you with puppy kisses in his forever home.

Charlie Brown is approximately seven years old and is being surrendered by his owner due to a change in family dynamics.
Charlie’s owners have had him since he was a puppy. He is a wonderful dog in almost every respect but he does not like children. They just had our first child one year ago and feel that they cannot allow them to be together without worrying that he might act aggressively towards her now that she has become more mobile. Charlie loves to give and get attention and is generally very sweet. He is smart, has had obedience training and is completely housebroken.
Charlie is up to date on all of his vaccination and is neutered. He is currently on a small dose of medication due to a recent thyroid issue and is responding well. Charlie is crate trained, but prefers not to be crated when his people are home, although he will occasionally go into his kennel to sleep. He has been known to be protective of his food. He likes to play with his toys, especially his rubber chicken and squeaky soccer ball. He likes to nap on the couch and go to the dog park.

We’re pleased to introduce you to Penny! Penny is five years old and is being surrendered by her owner due to divorce and relocation.
Penny is house trained and kennel trained, although her owner lets her have free reign of the house when she’s not at home. The best home for Penny would be with an active single person or couple. She loves going on walks. She would do best with someone who is very patient, loving and kind and would let her sleep with them or sit with them on the couch. She loves to be held and cuddled. She is sweet and loving and likes to be around you all the time, so it would need to be a home where she can be with them in the kitchen, etc.
Penny does get along with other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog in your life. She is jealous of babies and toddlers, so any children should be older. She’s never been around cats, so we recommend a cat-free home. She’s not a barker – she only barks when someone rings the doorbell to let you know you have visitors. She’s also a great runner. She can run alongside a bike on a leash. She loves to play outside, chase birds and squirrels in the yard. She loves to chew on toys and chew sticks. She’s spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.
If you are interested in meeting Penny, please complete an online adoption application.

Lucky is a very sweet and affectionate seven to eight-year-old red-haired Cocker boy. Because he came to us from the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter, we don’t know much about him, but he settled right into his foster home. He gets along very well with people. Lucky has a very curly coat and an adorable smile. He is crate-trained, fully house-broken, has had all his shots, and is neutered. Lucky is very well-behaved and polite: he knows sit, off, and cookie, and we’re working on teaching him more commands. Lucky barks very little, is out-going with strangers, and likes to give kisses. Could you give this adorable little guy a forever home? Lucky would do best as an only dog.

Please note: Kaylea has been adopted. She is no longer available for adoption.
Kaylea is spayed female Cockapoo that is almost 2-1/2 years old. Her mom is having to relocate and cannot take her along. Here is what her mom has to say about her:
Kaylea is an indoor-outdoor dog, with freedom to be wherever she wants. She has a fenced (4 foot) back yard and has never jumped the fence. She loves to chase squirrels and would climb the apple tree if she could. She loves to play fetch with her sqeeky toys and can always be relied on to return the toy, but she likes to play a little keep-away, as you can see in the picture. She will “drop” her toys on command. She will also “sit”, “stay”, “lay down” (she thinks that means rolling onto her back for a belly rub). She will “come” unless she is tracking something with her nose to the ground, so I never let her run loose. I put her on a long lead out front and she’s very content. She loves long walks on the leash, and I use a harness for the occasional pulling ahead – she can’t wait to see what’s around the next turn. She lets joggers, hikers and bikers pass without any problems. She usually wants to sniff out any dogs. She does the shy “knee hug” sometimes when people want to pet her, but once they have, she’ll flop onto her back for tummy rubs. She has never, ever snapped at anyone. She has had brief tussles with other dogs, but it’s all show, and I think it’s just them sorting things out. She used to be best friends with a big lab-rotty mix, and they’d play and run together. She would try to pull toys out of Maggie’s mouth. She has lived with cats without any problem.
She is completely house-broken. Indoors, Kaylea is a snuggler. She will curl up next to me or on my legs when I’m relaxing. She sleeps at the foot (only) of my bed on her little blanket. She has a large wire kennel and will go into it when I say the “kennel” command, but I stopped having her stay in it while I’m at work once I figured out she’s not a chewer or destructive. I keep the kennel door open and she often naps in it. I only use positive reinforcement for training. She loves her biscuit rewards. She is up to date on her shots and has never had any health problems.

Otis is a 2-3 year old Cocker mix that came to us as an owner surrender from Kansas. He is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccinations and is microchipped.
Otis is a wonderful guy, but he is displaying some resource guarding towards his environment. He wants grow up to be a guard dog! Anyone interested in Otis should be an experienced dog owner who is willing to be the alpha in the home. He will need training and supervision when outsiders visit the home. We recommend that he not be adopted to a home with children. Otis is fine with other dogs (he loves to play with them), but he does not like cats. He is working on his house training with his foster dad. Otis uses a dog door, but doesn’t realize that he needs to go outside to do his business.
Otis was teased and tormented by neighborhood kids in his previous home, so this may be an indication as to his current behavior. We feel that with training, he will be a wonderful pet.
If you are interested in meeting Otis, please complete an online adoption application.

Angel is a beautiful six year old female Cocker Spaniel. She’s almost champagne in color and is just as sweet as she can be.
Angel was surrendered by her owner due to allergies and financial hardships. She’s lived in the same home since she was a puppy and is now looking for someone new to love her.
She is a very friendly dog that will sit with anyone in the family. She weighs 30 pounds, but she is still a lap dog. Angel will sit with her foster’s teenage kids just as much as the adults. She will follow each of them around the house. Angel likes to chew on her bone. She plays a little with the ball. She likes to go on walks. She is potty trained and is learning the commands, sit, down, stay, and shake.
Angel is up to date on her vaccinations, has had her teeth cleaned, and is micro-chipped. She gets along with other dogs, but would be quite happy to be an only dog. She does not get along with cats. She is crate trained.
If you are interested in meeting Angel, please complete an online adoption application.
