“Hi, my name is Bailey Bug!  I am so happy now that I’ve made it into foster care.  I was rescued by a nice policeman from a hoarder where I shared a small house with 90 other animals.  I was so scared I hid all the time, and I was so dirty….  My foster mommy got me all cleaned up and a beautiful hair cut for summer, and I have other wigglebutt friends to play with now!  The memory of where I came from fades a little bit every day.  I like to travel with my foster family.  We load up and go to the summer house every other weekend.  I love the adventure and playing with my foster dog friends.  I am a very good girl, house and crate trained, and I am learning to sit for a treat too.  I would love to have a home of my own very soon, and would promise to be your most loyal best friend and confidant!

“Howdy ya’ll!  My name is Buddy.  I’ve had a hard go of things.  I’ve been adopted once before but was turned back over to a shelter because they couldn’t keep me.  Because of being passed around and having no one to commit to me for a lifetime I have what my foster mommy calls “separation anxiety”.  I cry when she leaves for work.  But I am learning quickly that she always comes back for me, and I love to be in the backyard with her to play and do my business too.  I am a real “loverboy lap dog”.  I like to go for walks, but I truly enjoy being right next to you ont he couch to snuggle and be petted.  I promise that I would be good therapy for you if you adopt ME!!  I have so much more to tell you!  The groomer said I was a true gentleman!  I will be a good boy and you would never regret adopting me.  I have lots of love to give.  Please call or email about me today!

Hi!  I’m “Shoogy”, “Shoogy-Meister”, “Shoogy-Doodle”……  Mom says I can “Shoogy-de-doodle” all day long!  I am a very excellent squirrel guard in the yard!  I patrol the yard, and boy howdy I can make tracks across the yard in nothing flat!  I bet I could learn to do doggie agility competitions with some training.  I am doing a great job with house training at my foster home, and I am co-habitating with 6 other Cocker Spaniel wigglebutts.  I love to sit on laps and be loved, and I love to go on long walks.  I would be a good runner’s friend too I think.  All of my vetting has been completed, so I am ready to roll.  Consider adopting me and we could set out on a big adventure together.  I am ever so curious about new things.  I warm up slowly to adults, but once I know you are okie dokie……  It’s all good.  I do really well with elementary aged children (8-9 years age and up).  I love to watch TV with my foster parents on the couch too.  Love belly rubs, and would love to have a home I could call my own.  I like doggie friends, but I’d like to have more attention all to myself too.

 This is “Miss Daisy”.  She has not been given the best of life so far, and is afraid of everything.  Today I discovered she does LOVE French fries, which we gladly gave her since she is underweight right now.  Daisy had puppies about 3 months ago, and she was picked up by animal control last week.  The family refused to pay the redemption fee and she was on the “put to sleep” list.  

Daisy is truly a dollbaby, and with love, attention, and some basic obedience training she will transfer affection and trust to the perfect person.  She has tremendous potential, and is in a great foster home right now who will give her great love and attention until she finds her forever family. 

I believe Daisy will grow to be a great companion, lap dog, snuggler.  She does wag her tail and wants to know the good life.  That is the first step to becoming a true “Cocker Wigglebutt”  Are you the first step to her knowing true love for the first time in her life?

Hello, my name is Miss Bobbi Mae, and I got very lucky when the animal control officer chose to call the rescue to come get me.  He told me they would “put me down” immediately after my 72 hour hold because I had a bad eye…  I don’t understand what he meant, but my foster mom was sure upset about it!  She just loved on me and hugged me and told me “what a lucky girl” I was!!  She is taking me to the ophthalmologist in Kansas City to have my eye looked at to see if it can get better.  I am trying to be very good so I can make friends and find a loving home of my own very soon.  I am already housetrained, my vaccines have been updated, and I am heartworm negative.  I am approximately 6-7 years of age.  AND, I’ve had my teeth cleaned up pearly white, and I am spayed too!  I love to follow my foster mom and the other foster dogs around the house and the yard too.  Call about me today or email the rescue at:   rockinpaw@cableone.net     (620) 340-2749.  You may text this number too!

NOTE:  All applications are processed in the order received, but an adoption is made to the best application received for each of our animals.  All applicants must provide a veterinary reference on the adoption application.  Home visits occur prior to each adoption.  Understand that the adoption fee is not for the purchase of a dog, but rather to cover the medical cost of the dogs in our care.

Riley is approximately three years old and he is a buff colored male Cocker Spaniel.  He is an owner surrender.

Riley’s owner has found that he can’t spend enough time with him and he wants to find a home for Riley where he will get more attention and play-time.  He’s quite small – less than twenty pounds and gets along with dogs and cats that have come to visit, plus he’s been good around kids.  RMCR will ensure that he is up to date on his vaccinations and that he is microchipped for his new owner.  He is house trained, but has the occasional accident, so his new owner will need to reinforce his house training with frequent, regular trips outside and lots of praise when he gets it right.  He’s had problems with skin allergies, but generally a good kibble with a novel protein such as fish, venison or duck will help with that issue.  He knows some basic commands and is eager to please.

Tinker is 14 years of age, and all vetting has been sponsored for her including a health certificate if she is adopted to the Colorado area.  We are working with the shelter to buy her some additional time in hopes that if we cross post extensively that someone will see the URGENT ADOPTION NEED, and extend a loving invitation to bring Tinker to their homes to live a happy and health remainder of her life.  

Tinker is healthy, with no known health issues, all vaccines are current, and she has been bathed and groomed.  She is social in ALL aspects, with other animals, children, and LOVES people.  Tinker is housetrained and a lovely little wigglebutt lover.  Her need is of course urgent as you know the situation of which we’ve discussed.  Tinker’s owner surrendered her to the Emporia Animal Shelter because she could not afford to have her euthanized.  (She is healthy – so there was no need to put her down.  Apparently the annual expenses of grooming, and general care were more than the owner could afford, so she took her to the shelter.

The adoption fee for Tinker is ZERO for an approved applicant!

If you love seniors the way we do, please consider letting this little girl live the last few years of her life knowing that she is still loved.  Please don’t wait!

Abe is a senior Cocker about 10 years old. He is well mannered, house trained and will sit, shake and fetch on command. He loves children and is fine with other dogs and cats. He is neutered and current on all vaccinations. He does not chew or bark much and is fine when left alone. He has a lot of energy for a senior guy!

Abe was covered in bugs and flies when he was rescued;  his nails were curled over and digging into his pads and he was starved. One of the great volunteers at the shelter took him home as he was a horrible sight to see.   A few months later,  Abe is doing fabulous.  We are needing to find him a great forever home.

Baby Bean is approximately 9-11 months of age, black with white chest, 18#, spayed, all vaccines current, and is heartworm negative.

Baby Bean is making great strides in her housetraining every day! She is crate trained (as long as she has a chewy or Kong to keep her busy and occupied until she falls asleep.) She is learning to walk on leash, and is FULL OF GO!! She will make a great energetic partner for power walks! She is a lovebug, and prefers nothing more than to be at your side and be petted and to have her ears rubbed. Baby Bean is fostering in a household that has three other Cocker kids and LOVES company. She also loves that fabulous “mommy and me” one-on-one time too…  An absolute dollbaby!
