Does Sunshine on your shoulders make you happy? Well, then this little guy should make you ecstatic. This is Sunshine and he really is a little ray of Sunshine. He is about 7 ½ years old but if we didn’t know his birth-date you would think he was under 5. He has very unique eyes. One of them has blue and brown mixed together. When you look at his eyes it’s hard to believe how amazing they are. He is very curious about the cat in the house but he doesn’t chase it or terrorize it. Sunshine is a very sweet boy but his foster mom thinks he would do much better as an only dog. He likes to be on his own. As he has come out of his shell a little bit his foster mom has seen a cuddle side to him but if you are looking for a companion that is a bit more independent he is your guy. We don’t know how Sunshine will do with kids (yet) but his foster mom doesn’t see him being aggressive at all (even over food or toys). He is a little sneaky and likes to find tissue any place he can find it and rip it to shreds. He will also need work with potty training. He does go potty outside most of the time but doesn’t seem to know how to tell you if he really needs to go out when you aren’t offering. He also has been marking in his foster mom’s home but she think that it’s because there are 2 other males in the house and he’s just trying to establish his place. This may be something you will have to work with too.
Sunshine is current on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. If you would like to meet Sunshine please fill out an online adoption application. Sunshine’s adoption fee is $250.

***** ADOPTED!!!!!!! *********
We’d like to introduce you to Emma!
Emma is 3 years old and is quiet, yet very affectionate! Emma loves to lay on the couch with her head on your lap and have her head and ears scratched, and of course, she loves her belly to be rubbed also.
Even at 3, Emma still has lots of puppy energy. She likes to have space to run in big circles in the back yard as fast as she can.
Emma greets guests well and doesn’t shied away from lovin’ from anyone.
Emma has graduated from obedience school, and when you tell her lets go to bed she goes right into her kennel. Emma sleeps well and gets up around 7AM, She will give you a little woof if she needs to get out sooner, but that is very rare.
She loves the morning, often letting out a cute, little howl when you are letting her out of her kennel in the morning.
She is used to having a doggy door, but when the dog door is not accessible to her, she will go to the door and paw at it a little or come and get us when she needs to go out. She has not had an accident inside since she was house trained as a puppy.
Emma loves to explore, she is nose to the ground on her walks and around the yard. At the dog park she greets other dogs submissively, may pee a little. She does get excited sometimes and may pee just a little if nervous but that is rare and hasn’t happened in a long time. If she is in a new home, that might happen a little until she gets used to everyone and her new situation.
She has a few toys that are her favorites. She really does love to chase after her toys and will bring them back to you to throw again after a brief game of tug of war.
Emma needs to be in a home without children, as she tends to get very jealous.
If you are interested in meeting Emma, please complete an adoption application online!

This is Mollie and she has a sad start to her story… Mollie and her brother were abandoned when her family left their home in January. Someone did come and “adopted” her brother. Mollie was “adopted” for a little while too but the people that took her brought her back and dumped her back into the empty house. This is where Mollie’s story starts to look up… the sweet next door neighbor found Mollie and tried to take care of this baby as best she could. She wasn’t able to take Mollie into her home as she has dogs of her own. She did her best to feed and look after Mollie. Not long after this RMCR got a call to see if we could help find Mollie the forever home she so deserves.
We don’t know exactly how old Mollie is but we guess she is around 7-8 years young. She is spunky and loves to chase her ball and play with her foster brothers and sister. She loves to cuddle with her foster mom and her foster mom enjoys that quite a bit.. she feels like velvet! She gives sweet little kisses and just loves to be loved. She is potty trained and crate trained. She seems to adapt to new situations very well. She is a true little bundle of joy. She does fine with the cat in the house.. doesn’t even seem to notice he is there. We don’t know how she will do with kids but her foster mom thinks if she does end up in a home with kids they need to be over the age of 10. Mollie needs someone that will pamper and love her to bits!
Mollie is spayed and micro-chipped. RMCR will ensure she is current on all her vaccinations. If you would like to meet Mollie please fill out an online adoption application. Mollie’s adoption fee is $250.

This is Zero. He is a precious and wonderful 3 year-old and has lots of energy. He has the waggiest tail there is! Zero needs a home with a fenced yard. He is protective over his toys and food. He is great with kids, but we aren’t sure how he will do with other dogs/cats. Zero is a cocker mix and we think his daddy may have been a corgi. His foster says “He’s one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. Someone interested in a true companion dog will be very lucky to have this one! He’s a doll!”
Zero is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and is micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Zero, please fill out an online adoption application. Zero’s adoption fee is $250.

~~~~ There is an application for adoption pending for Coby~~~~
Hello there, my name is Coby. I was rescued from a hoarder and I am looking for a forever home where I will be loved unconditionally, as I will love you. I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of my shots, and I am house trained. I obey commands such as come, down, and sit. I am about 2 ½ years old and I am a mix of Cocker Spaniel and perhaps another sporting or working breed, as I am a bigger than a pure bread Cocker and I look different too. I have the softest and most beautiful brown coat which just seems to float through the breeze as I run. I have a blue and a brown eye – very different indeed!
Because I am a very active dog I need a home where I will be able to run in a yard and have a lot of activity. Please do not put me in an apartment or a town home and hope that I will spend all of my outdoor time on a leash. Even though I am crate trained, when I need to be crated I have a large 3 x 3 ex pen so I have room to move around. My foster mom says that my manners are great and that I am a gentleman.
I came here really scared but now I am much more confident in most circumstances. I am very social and curious, but sometimes I still get nervous with new people. I can make adjustments once I know I can trust. I have been with young children in my foster home and I thought I would be ok with them. But when a nice family wanted to adopt me I got nervous with some children’s activity and I bit a couple of times. So maybe it’s not a good idea to put me with young children again. I also got very scared at a doggie wash so please don’t take me to one of those for a bath. When I meet new men it takes me a while to warm up to them so please be patient with me. I haven’t been around cats. I have been in a foster home with several other cockers and it’s a lot of fun. I would love to cuddle on the couch or in bed with you and sit at your feet as you work at your desk. I love to play and to be with people and with other dogs. I would like to have a dog buddy to live with, in addition to loving and understanding humans. I am obedient, listen carefully and learn quickly. I pull on my leash but my foster mom uses a harness and that helps me remember not to pull so much. If you keep working with me I will get better at leash training too. Actually, I am a wonderful, active young dog who would love a life filled with action, companionship, and family.
If you would like to meet Coby, please fill out an online adoption application. Coby’s adoption fee is $250.
~~~~~An Adoption is Pending for Bear~~~~
Hi, I’m Bear! My owners, who rescued me as a stray a couple years ago, are moving to the country and are afraid that I might not survive that new environment. You see, I’m blind and they are afraid the coyotes will get me in the country. So I’m looking for a new family who will take good care of me and help me to adjust to my new home. It won’t take me long to learn my way around my new home and yard, so don’t let my blindness deter you from adopting me! I’ll bet that, within a few days in my new home, you won’t remember I can’t see because I’ll be moving around like any sighted dog.
I’m just a little guy, about 15 pounds, and around 5 years old. Of course, that’s just an estimate since I was found wandering the streets so no one knows for sure my real birthday. I get along with other dogs as well as cats and I’m also good around children. When my humans are gone I stay in an indoor kennel for up to 10 hours a day without making a mess. I love to go on walks and will pull a bit on the leash out of curiosity, so if you need a walking companion, count on me! I also love to chew rawhide bones. I’ve had some basic training and know a few commands.
I’m not yet neutered, so RMCR will pay for that and they will microchip me if I’m not already. Please meet me and allow me to show you how wonderful I am!
Bear’s adoption fee is $250

Hello there! My name is Wally and I am 7 ½ years old. I am looking for a home where I can be loved forever and be taken care of and allowed to be a big part of a family. You see, I was rescued from a shelter after my owner took me there because he lost his home and didn’t have a place to live. He got me as a gift when I was just a puppy and I lived with him all this time as an outdoor dog and I would be alone without human companionship over 12 hours a day. I did like to chase the birds once in a while. I didn’t have any other dogs to play with and did not get much attention. Just the lonely backyard, and in the winter it would get really cold out there. When my owner took me to the shelter he said that I am friendly and that I was no trouble at all and never caused any problems but he just didn’t have a place for me anymore. I stayed in there for about a week until Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue came and took me out of there. What a happy day that was! But I was sick by then and they didn’t know what was wrong with me. My ears hurt a lot and when I urinated, blood came out. It was scary! I really needed a bath and a haircut too because I looked like an old shaggy dog instead of the cute Cocker Spaniel that I am now.
I just had to tell you all about me so that you will know how much I have been through to get to this point and how much Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue has done to help me so that I can be ready for a new life. I know what love feels like now and I really want to hang on to it. My foster mom says that I am such a good little dog. She says I am gentle and kind and that I remind her of a butterfly. I get along with all of the other dogs in my foster home and all of the people too. I love to hang out with my foster family. I love to cuddle and I give very soft doggie kisses. I am obedient and crate trained. You just won’t find a better dog than me.
I am not quite ready yet to leave my foster home because I need a little more time to heal from some surgery that was in the beginning of April. My foster mom will tell you all about it if you are interested. If you are interested in me, you could go ahead and submit an online adoption application. When I am ready, my adoption fee will be $250.00
Thank you for thinking of me.
Wally
