Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue

Tucker

Tucker has an adoption pending!!

Hello, my name is Tucker and I am an eight month old Cocker Spaniel. My owner passed away and I’m looking for a new home.  As I am still a puppy, I have TONS of energy and am always either running or playing. My BFF Mojo (who is also up for adoption here) and I  roughhouse all night until bed time. In the few minutes I’m not playing, I love to be around my humans and give them big, wet, sloppy kisses!  I would love, love, love to be able to stay together with Mojo.
I am still young so need work on my commands, but I love to go on walks and for car rides. I am learning about a crate, although I would prefer not to be in one. I am mostly housebroken but do have an occasional accident. I am up-to-date on my vaccinations, have been neutered and will be microchipped.

If you’d like to meet me, and maybe Mojo, too, please complete an online adoption application.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is approximately a year and half old. He came to us from a shelter in Vernal UT.

He was a little shy with the husband in the foster home, but is warming up. He likes to walk on the leash but likes to pull a bit, so he needs some patience and training when on walks. We recommend a home with older children and other dogs to keep him company. Younger kids might be too active for his shy demeanor.

Cinnamon is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. We’ll also take care of microchipping. If you are interested in meeting Cinnamon, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Lady

Lady is an approximately 6-8 year old female that came to us from a shelter in New Mexico where she was an owner surrender.

She is a super sweet little girl who loves to be with her people.  She loves to go for walks, play with her red rubber ball, and cuddle next to you.  She rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash and harness.  She is housetrained and is fine left alone loose in the house, although she will howl for a bit after you leave, but eventually quiets down.  She sleeps on her dog bed and will stand by the couch and wait for you to tell her she can come up before she jumps up.  She is fine with all dogs and people of all ages.  Lady’s only flaw is that she is deaf, possibly from poor ear hygiene.  However, the only effect this has on her life with her foster family is that if she is sleeping, you must wake her up to tell her something—if she is awake she is right next to you at all times!  She knows that a slap on the thigh or clapped hands means ‘come,’ a picked up leash means ‘walk,’ a pat on the couch means ‘cuddle,’ a pointed finger and scowl means ‘no,’ and a wave towards an open door means ‘go out.’

Lady is up to date on her vaccinations, is neutered and will be having her teeth cleaned.  We will also insure that she is micro chipped. Lady is a sweet, loving little girl who deserves a forever home.  Can’t yours be that home?

If you are interested in Lady, please make sure that you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Bear

Bear is a four year old buff male Cocker Spaniel who came to Denver from Utah.  He is a gentle companion who loves being with people and other dogs.  Today he is living with a family with teenagers and adults.  He acclimated himself to his foster home within a day.  Bear craves attention and seeks to be at your side whenever he can.  He enjoys going for walks or romping in the yard.  A favorite pastime is watching himself in the mirror.  He gets along very well with other dogs.  He will fit in with any temperament, but we recommend a home without young children.

Bear is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and will be microchipped prior to being adopted.

If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Callie

Hi,

My name is Callie and I’m a 9 month old buff female Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles mix.

Since I’m just a pup, I’m still learning some things, but I’m a very fast learner! I am still working on being housebroken, but I am pretty good at waiting until I get outside to do those kinds of things! With some more practice, I will have that down too! I do like to chew on things, but if you give me some toys that I can play with, I will happily chew on those. I do really well walking on a lead  and I’m okay when I have to spend some time in my crate too.

I love getting attention – I follow my foster mom all around and love it when she pets me! My favorite spot  is right behind my ears. Pet me there and I am a very happy girl! I may be a little shy when I first meet you, but as soon as I learn that you are going to give me love, I will give you all the love I can!

I have been for a long walk at a dog park and I did really well with some dogs who were a little smaller than me; they said they were pugs and they were  fun to play with!  So, I will be ok with dogs about my size once I get to know them. I’m not so sure about big dogs though. There were some at the dog park and they made me feel a bit nervous. I’m not sure about kids and cats either; but I haven’t met either of them yet.

I can’t wait to find my forever home to get and give LOTS of love! If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an application.

Oh – I am up to date on my vaccinations and will be spayed and micro-chipped before I am adopted!

Wally

Wally is an adorable two year old buff male that came to us as an owner surrender.  He belonged to a senior that was evperiencing some health issues and could no longer care for him.  He is quite small, weighing only around 18 pounds.

Wally would do best in a home with another dog as a companion.  He is quite insecure in that he needs companionship.   He’s neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and will be micro-chipped prior to adoption.  We would recommend a home without small children due to his small stature.  He is in a foster home with cats and is fine.

If you are interested in meeting Wally, please complete an online adoption application.

Bailey

Bailey is a three year old Cocker Spaniel (possibly a mix) who looks at you with eyes that are more innocent looking than most Cockers.  This quiet girl has not barked a single time indoors, and only once outside when two other dogs went by.  Her curiosity about cats in her foster home has led to some hissing, so it’s a good sign that she will learn to get along well with them.  Bailey has medium level energy, absolutely loves walks and loves food (like most Cockers).  She loves to be next to you on the sofa watching TV.  She is very smart; within just a day at her foster home she learned that she gets a treat after coming back in from outside.  When she needs to go out, she stands at the door quietly and has not scratched it.  Like most hunting dogs, Bailey loves the squirrels and rabbits.  So far, she has not begged for human food, but rather sits quietly and keeps her distance.  She has extremely good manners and likes giving a lick when hugged.

Bailey was surrendered by her previous owners due to a minor resource guarding challenge. She had been adopted by a couple and had bonded with the husband and growled at the wife when she tried to get into bed for the evening, which means she was resource guarding either the bed or the husband or perhaps both. This behavior can be eliminated by owners who consistently demonstrate that they, not her, are the leaders of the pack. Bailey needs experienced owners who are trained in positive reinforcement techniques to eliminate resource guarding or owners who are willing and able to learn these techniques and be very consistent in her training for life.  For this reason, we will not adopt her to a home with small children. As you can read from her foster mom, Bailey will be an excellent companion for someone willing to be her leader instead of allowing her to do as she wishes.

Bailey is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed.  She will be microchipped prior to adoption.  If you are interested in meeting her, please complete an online adoption application.

Oakley

Oakley is  a two year old neutered buff male that came to us from Missouri.  He’s up to date on all of his vaccinations and will be microchipped before adoption.

His foster dad tells us that he’s a gentle soul that sticks close by his side.  He’s good with other dogs and kids, but we’re not sure about cats.  Considering his demeanor, he should be fine.

If you are interested in meeting Oakley, please complete an online adoption application.

Maxx

Maxx is a seven-year old medium-golden brown male.  He knows basic commends, loves to have his tummy rubbed, and likes to hang with his foster mom.  Possibly due to age, he is more reserved than younger dogs, but has bonded  well with one of his foster brothers and they love to play tag in the back
yard.

Maxx has learned leash training in his foster home and enjoys going on walks.  He is also a cuddler, preferring to sit next to a human if possible during the day, and sleeping under the bed at night.  Maxx has experienced no house training incidents.

Maxx is up to date on his vaccinations, is neutered and will be microchipped prior to adoption.  If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

April

This young lady is estimated to be around one year old. She was dumped at a shelter because her owner could no longer care. She’s a gorgeous buff Cocker, but she’s really timid. She’s been to several adoption events and seems to benefit from the exposure to the environment and to people. She would do best in a quiet home where her owners would expose her slowly to new people and experiences. She gets along well with other dogs and is not affected by cats. She has been spayed and has all of her shots. We recommend a home with without children.

If you are interested in meeting April, please complete an online adoption application.
