Kodiak is an eight year old neutered male Cocker Spaniel that was dropped off at the shelter because his owners “didn’t want him anymore”. He is a sweet dog who gets along with other dogs. He can be a little bossy at times, but isn’t a classic alpha. He gets along with people, although he does seem to be more comfortable around women. He is pretty good with house training, although he has had a couple of accidents, so he will need some reinforcement in his house training skills.

Kodiak is up to date with his vaccinations and is microchipped. If you are interested in meeting him, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Do you see the contentment in this little girls face? This is Abby, a senior girl that came to us as an owner surrender. The family was having financial and health problems and decided that Abby needed a new home. Placing senior dogs has its own challenges and Abby needed extensive dental care and a huge cyst on her leg removed. But Steve and Carmen saw her on the website and knew right away that she was the one they wanted. A meeting was arranged and Abby had a new home! She is very happy in her new house and is loved beyond imagination. We think she might just be a tad bit spoiled as well, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Thanks, Steve and Carmen, for giving this little girl a chance to spend her golden years with you!

Please welcome Gabriel!

Visitors to our Facebook page may recall seeing a YouTube video of Gabriel. If you missed it, here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6a5WvgGXSQ&feature=youtu.be.

You can see that he has indeed been rescued and is once again a beautiful boy. He had to have some surgeries to remove quite a few teeth, cherry eyes fixed and a neuter. He also had all of that matted hair cut off. He is much happier now that those abcessed teeth have been removed. He is still experiencing some tearing in his eyes and may benefit from regular eye drops.

Here is what his foster mom has to say:

He is very sweet and affectionate. Loves to go outside and sniff around in the backyard, and enjoys laying in the sun. He has learned to use the doggie door and loves his freedom. He is cuddly and sweet and has a NON-stop tail/butt wiggle. He loves toys-squeaky, shiny, or soft and furry. He likes to chew on rawhide bones.

Does occasionally bark/howl when he sees birds or other wildlife animals in trees. Not a huge bark, and usually stops when I tell him to stop. He gets along well with other dogs large and small and has not shown any aggressive behaviors around people or animals. He has not been around children yet.

Likes his food, and finishes his half cup portions in one sitting. He is getting one cup total per day. He sits before getting treats and takes treats very gently. He is a gentle little guy all around. We are working on the weight loss. He is at 35 lbs now. He likes to sleep on the couch or the bed, so we are working on getting him comfortable enough to sleep in a dog bed or on a blanket on the floor. He does not go into his crate at all and doesn’t seem to care for it. He is good roaming free when we are gone from the house, no accidents, no chewing, no getting into the garbage.

Great dog! Follows me around the house, likes car rides and likes walks.

If you are interested in meeting Gabriel, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Gidget came to RMCR after being abandoned by her owners and ending up in the Rawlins WY shelter where she spent two long months before a good volunteer there made it his duty to get her into a Rescue. We’re so glad! Gidget attended an adoption event and just happened to be there when Andrew and Roseanna were visiting Petco with their cocker mix Cocoa. Andrew and Roseanna had been looking for a companion for Cocoa, but he didn’t like any of the doggies they had met…until Gidget! And now Gidget has a new forever home with a sweet doggie friend and loving owners. What a wonderful new beginning!

Lilly is a three year old Cocker Spaniel mix. She looks as if she may have some Golden Retriever genes going on. She is slightly larger than your typical Cocker Spaniel and does have a full tail.

She was left behind, chained in the back yard, when her owners moved out of their house. Good Samaritan neighbors took her in and fed her and called RMCR to see if we could help find her a new home. They made sure she had a new groom before we moved her into foster care. She is a super sweet girl, however she’s a little timid. She doesn’t quite know what’s going on yet. She tends to shy away from attention until she gets to know you and she is especially timid around men. She does, however, warm up in short time!

She seems to be house trained, is up to date on her vaccinations, and RMCR will make sure she’s microchipped. She gets along well with other dogs, but we’re not sure about cats, but we feel that she would be fine. She does well with older kids, however toddlers may be too active for her.

If you are interested in meeting Lilly, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption form.

Hi! I just arrived from Utah and the name on the paperwork that came with me says my name is Popcorn. I’m not sure that’s right, but hey, I’ll let you call me anything if you’ll let me come live with you!

I was abandoned when my owner died, so the rescue doesn’t know a lot about my history and the paperwork doesn’t offer very much information. It says that I’m eight years old, but I think I’m a bit older. Don’t tell anyone, but I think I’m a bit overweight, too. I don’t move very fast, but I’m happy to follow you around so that I can stay right beside you!

I’m neutered and up to date on my vaccinations. I’m also microchipped. I’m going to get my teeth cleaned and I have a bit of an ear infection. I don’t hear so well either, but I’m a big love bug and wish that you would give me a nice new home and love me forever! I’m house trained and I do well on a leash. I can go up and down the stairs slowly and I’m trying to understand this thing called a doggy door. It still confuses me! I love a big fluffy dog bed and will sleep on it all night long. I’m not too keen on toys, but I love to be scratched and petted.

If you want to meet me, please fill out an online adoption application.

This is Toby. Toby is a four year old buff neutered male. He was surrendered by his owners due to health issues and is looking for a new home.

Toby was an only dog, however he does enjoy the company of other canine companions. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is crate trained and house trained. He enjoys playing with his toys!

His previous owners had small children and he was very gentle with them. He has not been around cats, so we don’t know how he would react to them, so perhaps a cat-free home is best. He rides well in the car. Toby would be a wonderful addition to any home.

If you are interested in meeting him, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application.

Meet Brooklyn! This little guy is only around two years old. In fact, the vet thinks he’s younger, but we have to go with the information that came with his paperwork. He’s a bundle of energy that would love nothing better than to chase a ball until your arm fell off!

Brooklyn does have one slight issue. He’s a little aggressive with other dogs – he wants to be the only guy in your life. He’s young and a firm leader and some training could very well ease this behavior. We don’t know how he would react to cats, so perhaps a cat-free home is in order! We think he would be fine around older, calm children.

He is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccines. RMCR will make sure that he’s microchipped for you. Also, if you didn’t notice, Brooklyn still has his tail! If you can’t resist that sweet face and would like to meet him, we’ll be happy to introduce him to you.

If you are interested in Brooklyn, please complete an online adoption application.

Hi there – my name is Max! I’m told that I’m around eight years old, but I dare you to prove it by spending a day with me! I love to play and run around and act like a puppy. And I really love my toys. As you can see in my pictures, my favorite is a blue squeaky toy and a tennis ball. I even fell asleep with the tennis ball still in my mouth in one of the pictures!

I was taken to a boarding facility when my owner had to go into the hospital and then he never came to get me. I was sad, but the folks at the animal hospital fell in love with me and played with me a lot! The didn’t think it was fair for me to spend the rest of my life there, so they called the rescue and asked them to find me a new home. Until you come to take me to your house, I’m living with a couple of other dogs and cats. I think they’re fun, but I’d rather have a forever home! I’m super sweet! I’m house trained, too!

I’m neutered, whatever that means, and have had all of my shots. I’m also microchipped. That means I’m ready to come live with you. Wouldn’t that be fun!

If you’d like to meet me, the folks at the rescue ask that you fill out an online adoption application. See you soon!
