Tess with Michelle and her new family
Tess came to us from an Amish puppy mill outside Independence, MO where she was kept in a cramped cage and bred as frequently as possible during her four years of life. Luckily, the breeder decided to get out of the business of Cocker Spaniels, which is how she came to Colorado and found a forever home. She had been with us for about a week and was at a Petco adoption event when Michelle and her daughter saw her fresh from the groomer. Tess is just a love bug, which is amazing considering her initial four years of life, so she quickly won the hearts of her admirers. Was it a just coincidence that Michelle just happened to go to that particular Petco on that particular day just as Tess got out of the grooming salon or was it destiny? Judging by the happy faces in the picture, it’s a happy tale no matter how it came about! We’re just thrilled that another precious Cocker was saved from a lifetime of abuse at the hands of a puppy miller and given a fresh start with a loving family in a forever home.

Ginger is a three year old buff female Cocker Spaniel. She’s fairly small, only weighing about 20 pounds. Ginger gets frightened when she’s left alone, so she would really like to have a home with other dogs. That way, when her people have to go out, she won’t be left by herself. Currently, she lives alone with her people and gets scared when she’s left alone and that leads to an upset tummy. She has a friend, Angus, that sometimes comes to play and when she and Angus stay home alone, she’s just fine.
Ginger likes to go for walks and play with tennis balls or her rope toy. One of the photos above shows her playing tug with Angus. She likes to sleep in the bed with her people and is comforted knowing that they are near. She would benefit from having a quiet environment with other dogs or children to play with.
Ginger is up to date on her vaccinations. She is spayed, house trained and leash trained, but does not like to be crated. If you would like to meet this adorable little girl, please complete an online adoption application.

Allie is a nine year old buff female Cocker Spaniel that is looking for a new forever home. Her family is feeling the crunch of the economy and can’t afford to give Allie the things she needs.
Allie likes to spend a little time on the bed in the evenings getting pets and attention, but then she likes to sleep on the floor nearby. She knows several commannds such as come, sit and dance. She will dance for treats! Allie loves to go on walks. She is house trained and does well on a lead. She is friendly and playful, but when she’s frightened of something, like thunder or fireworks, she wants to be near you for protection. She is good with children, but we don’t know how she’d react to cats, so a home without cats is probably best. She gets along with other dogs, but sometimes needs a little time to adjust. She spayed and will be up-to-date on her vaccinations before she is adopted.
If you are interested in meeting Allie, please fill out one of our online adoption applications.

Hooch has an adoption application pending.
Hooch is a happy, polite, house trained joy. He is either on his foster mom’s lap or leaping, playing in backyard or sleeping. He will go into a crate, pefers the bed but he goes along with what makes you happy. He’s a little skinny, but you can fatten him up because he loves treats. He seldom “marks” and when you suspect he is about to, a hand clap stops it. And oh, just a minute, he just came up to remind us that he really, really wants someone to teach him how to play ball. He is OK on a leash, but needs to add sit and stay to his catalog.
Hooch is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and is micro-chipped. He gets along fine with children, dogs and cats. If you are interested in meeting Hooch, please complete one of our online application forms.

This is Magellan and oh, what a character he is. Magellan is a three year old buff cocker spaniel that looks like he should be in the show ring. He’s so handsome and he has such kind and sweet eyes. He rides great in a car and seems to enjoy it. He gets along with other dogs. He is house trained. He is not fond of a crate. He is good with kids and lives with two young twin boys about 18 months old. We don’t know how he is with cats. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations and is waiting on his forever home. Magellan is just a love.
Magellan was heartworm positive and was treated prior to coming to us. He will need to be retested in April or May. Meanwhile, he is on heartworm preventative.
If you are interested in meeting Magellan, please complete one of our online adoption applications.

Callie with Sarah, Rob and kids
Callie’s original owner gave her to a shelter due to personal problems. Callie was so scared in the kennel that no one could come near while she was at the shelter, so they contacted a local behaviorist who saw Callie’s potential as an awesome dog and took her home for fostering. After some rehab time with this wonderful behaviorist, Callie was driven from South Dakota to Colorado during the snow storm right before Christmas so she had her best chance of adoption through our program. After 2 weeks in foster care in Denver, she found her forever home with Sarah and Rob and their 3 young children. Sarah and Rob decided it was the right time for their young family to adopt a dog, so she filled out an adoption application and expected to wait for awhile before they found one that would fit their family. Twenty four hours later, we brought Callie over for a visit. Her cute little face and long eyelashes were hard to resist and her playful nature sealed the deal. Callie’s new family loves her dearly and this precious little girl is settling in nicely where she will have children to play with all day and a mom and dad to cuddle with prior to bedtime.

Maeve is three years old and came to us from one of the local animal shelters where she was brought in as a stray. She loves people and wants to be near them constantly. She needs to be the constant companion of someone that wants the adoration of a devoted pet. This tiny girl (she’s only about 12 pounds) would do best in a home without small children and with a parent that is retired or works from home in order to give her the attention she craves.
Maeve sleeps in a small dog bed. She does not go willingly in to a crate, possbily because she’s been left in one for extended lengths of time. She’s very friendly and gets along with other animals. She eats well, but could use an extra pound or two! She strikes an elegant pose and likes to sit on the back of her foster mom’s sofa so that she has the best view!
Maeve is a light buff with almost silver a touch. She loves to wear sweaters and would like to find a warm home where she’s treated like a princess. She’s spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations.
If you are interested in meeting Maeve, please complete one of our online adoption applications.

Healy is up to date on his vaccinations and was recently neutered. He has had no accidents in the house. He gets along with other dogs and seems to do fine with cats. He would be fine with children.
