My name is Lexi! I am an approximately 3-4 year old female buff and white cocker spaniel, although I may have some mix involved -perhaps a little Schnauzer, but who knows? I was found as a matted, dirty stray in Nebraska and brought to Colorado. Once I was here, I got bathed and groomed, and had to be shaved, so I look a little scruffy right now, but my fur is growing back soft and clean. I have the thickest, darkest eyelashes you’ve ever seen! My foster parents say I am a good, smart dog, so don’t you want to be my family?
Lexi is a GREAT dog! She knows her name, and knows sit, lay down and roll over! She is working on heel and stop when on a leash. She will go in a crate, but is fine left loose in the house during the day, with no accidents. She learned the very first night that she sleeps on her own doggie bed, not on our bed. She rides well in the car. She likes nylabones and squeaky toys, and is good with adults, children, and other dogs, but LOVES men most of all! We don’t know about cats. She is quiet and rarely barks in the house, but has a big dog bark when she does bark! She loves to curl up next to you on the couch and give kisses and get pets. Her only bad habit is that she gets very excited and will run away when off leash, so we are working on come and stay here. She is very smart and learns quickly, and is very “well adjusted” for all she has been through. You will not be disappointed with Lexi!!

Titanium has an adoption application pending.
This is Titanium. She is 12 months old, spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all of her vaccinations.
Titanium came to us from a puppy mill in Kansas. She was not well-socialized and is quite shy. It takes her a few days to feel comfortable in a new location, but once she feels she’s at home, she’s quite happy and is a very good watch dog. She needs a patient owner who will love her and help her work through her insecurities. She does well with other dogs and shows no interest in cats. Because of her shyness, we recommend a home without small children.
If you are interested in Titanium, please complete our online adoption application.

Lady has an adoption application in progress!
Lady is a four year old buff and white female Cocker Spaniel that is looking for a new home. Her current family has two-year old twins and both parents work full time, so Lady isn’t getting the attention that she feels she deserves. She’s really looking for a family where one or both parents are home during the day and can spend more time with her.
Lady gets along with other dogs and is patient with children. She is spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She loves to play catch.
If you are interested in meeting Lady, please complete one of our online adoption applications.

Jasper has an adoption application pending.
Jasper is a very sweet American Cocker Spaniel male between 1-2 years old. He is very thin and a rather skittish with strangers, but he quickly warms up and becomes a velcro dog who loves to give kisses and snuggle. He has just been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He could benefit from adding a pound or two.
Jasper seems to be house trained. He gets along with other dogs and doesn’t really pay any attention to cats. He doesn’t really like to be crated, but we’re working on that. Jasper also loves to play with balls and he LOVES children as young as 5 years old. He rides well in a car.
If you are interested in meeting Jasper, please fill out one of our online adoption applications.

Cadmium came to us from Kansas where he was part of a seizure of puppy mill dogs. He got his name at the vet clinic in Kansas that took care of him before he came into rescue, so he’s isn’t really responding to it yet. His new owner will be able to change it if they choose to do so.
Cadmium is around one year old. He’s very shy and not quite sure how to handle this new-found freedom. He’s white and cream in color. He’s very affectionate does not like to be crated. He is also neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations. Due to his shyness and his past history, he would probably do better in a home with a stay-at-home parent, preferably without small children. He will need patient owners with a more quiet environment in order to gain confidence and feel secure. He’s extremely inquisitive and will need to be watched to make sure he doesn’t play with items that he should not have.
If you are interested in meeting Cadmium please fill out our online application form.

Scout is a three-month-old Cocker Spaniel mix. We’re not sure of his mix, but we think he has some Dachshund features. He has a longer face and body than that of a Cocker Spaniel, plus his tail was not docked. Currently, he weighs a whopping six pounds!
His foster mom tells us that this little guy is easy to work with. He already comes to his name, knows “sit” and “go potty”. He is a typical puppy in that he has two speeds, full-out or sleeping! He’s at that stage where he likes to shred papers and pull on pant legs, but he responds to “no” really well. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and children.
Scout is up to date on the vaccinations that he can have at his age. Due to his age, he is not yet neutered. Consequently, it will be up to whoever adopts this little guy to have him neutered in the forseeable future. A Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue volunteer will discuss policies regarding intact dogs to all interested applicants.
If you are interested in meeting this adorable little boy, please complete an adoption application at www.rockymountaincockerrescue.org/adoption-info/.

Howdy folks! My name is “Paddy”! My foster mom sings Knick Knack Paddy Whack Give The Dog a Bone, and I know that means I get TREATS!!! I am only 2 years old, neutered, up-to-date on all my shots, and ready for all kinds of fun! My foster dad loves to play ball with me! I will run and fetch and run and fetch until his arm gives out. I love squeaky toys, and I love my foster parents! I will snuggle with the other dogs at their house and love my pack of wigglebutt friends! I am already housetrained too! My foster mom tells me that is a bonus. I am praying for a home of my own with people who will love me forever. I need a home that is adult only, or has children over the age of 12. The older kids will play fetch with me and understand doggie rules better.
Paddy’s adoption fee is $200.00. Transportation from Kansas to Denver will be coordinated for any potential applicant. Paddy is up to date on all routine vaccinations.
This is a cross post for another rescue. If you’re interested in Paddy, you can contact:

Molly is an 8 year old, beautiful buff and white, spayed American Cocker Spaniel who needs to find a new home. Unfortunately, she has become an escape artist and has gotten over or under a 6 foot privacy fence repeatedly when her family is gone. She does not like the crate and has separation anxiety enough to cause her to be destructive when left at large in the house when alone. Molly also gets into the trash, so she will need someone with experience in dog training and separation anxiety. Her family is just too busy to work with her to help her overcome these new behaviors, so they are seeking to rehome her with a loving family.
Molly is gentle, loving and healthy. She is house trained, leash trained and knows some basic commands. She loves tennis balls and playing fetch. She also loves swimming!
Molly LOVES children of all ages as well as other dogs and people. She has always been great with the family’s 3 year old twins, so she can go to a family with small children. This little girl has not been around many cats, but she has been generally curious and gentle with the cats she has come into contact with during the 7 years that her family has had her. She’s not a big barker, only when the doorbell rings or a stranger enters the house. She is not aggressive at all and has never bitten, snapped or even growled at anyone. Her only fear is thunder. When she hears it, she will shake, seek attention or hide under the bed.
Molly is up to date on her vaccinations and ready for her new forever home. The owner believes the best situation for her would be a family with children and perhaps another dog to play with, but for certain with someone who is home a lot and can spend time with her.

Ava is a buff and white female puppy that we believe may be an American Cocker Spaniel/Beagle mix. Bella, also a puppy, is her best buddy, but we’re not quite sure what Bella’s breed mix may be at this point. Both girls were believed to be born in November 2008. Their owner surrendered them to our rescue because she moved into an apartment that does not accept dogs. Her grandparents, who are currently caring for both puppies, would like to place them together into a loving, forever home.
Both puppies are crate trained and mostly house trained, although they do have the occasional accident in the house. They both love to snuggle with their people on the couch, play with each other and chew their bones, balls and stuffed animals. With their puppy energy, they make great playmates! When they are napping, they like to cuddle up with each other in a crate. Their owner indicates they do not have any behavioral issues and are learning basic commands.
Both Ava and Bella are spayed and up to date on their vaccinations. Since they are puppies, they should do OK in a home with older children who know how to properly handle dogs. If you would like to adopt these girls, please contact us!
Update on Bella – Bella was adopted, but after being separated from Ava, began showing signs of separation anxiety. Her new owner was unable to deal with these new behaviors, so she is once again available for adoption. We feel that she would do best in a home with another dog to keep her company if we are unable to adopt these two litter mates together.

Tucker is a one-year-old, buff-and-white neutered male American Cocker Spaniel. He is house-trained, but not crate-trained and he knows some basic commands. He loves to play with dogs and gets along well with children as young as five years old as well as cats.
Tucker plays the alpha around dogs, but is submissive to people. He is outgoing, friendly, playful, active and energetic, and a real snuggler on the couch with his people. He also loves car rides, walks and playing fetch with his squeaky balls. Tucker’s foster family is working with him on some resource guarding issues with his food bowl, but other than that, this adorable dog is just perfect! He is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and ready for his new forever home!
