Meet Maddie!! She is a super sweet 5 year old black owner surrender. Maddie is housetrained and knows what “go potty” means. She sleeps in her crate at night and is fine left alone in the house during the day. This little girl has shown no food or toy aggression, she loves all toys and treats. She is gentle and tolerant of people of all ages. She does not dig or chew. She knows “get down” and sit, and is trying to learn lay down. She rides very well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. She does well with dogs her own size, but bigger dogs are still scary, and she does occasionally have some leash aggression. She was kept outside by herself by her former owners and so is new to socialization. She loves being outside but also loves to cuddle and snooze on the couch with her people. She is very food motivated and learns quickly with a treat reward. Maddie is about 28 lbs, and may actually be a cockapoo (she has large feet and her ungroomed coat is very thick with big soft curls, and she sheds less than her cocker foster brother!). Maddie is just as sweet and loving as she can be and will make a wonderful addition to any forever family.
Maddie is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all of her vaccinations.

Booker T is a wonderful 2-3 year old black make Cocker Spaniel who came to us from Julesburg. He’s such a friendly lad! He’s fairly laid-back, is house trained, and does fairly well on a lead. He is not currently crated. Booker is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and is micro-chipped. He gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. He would be a great fit for any family.
This little guy is a wonderful dog and will probably attract lots of attention, so if you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Foxy is a one and one-half to two year old black female that came to us from Las Vega NM. Her owners surrendered her and her puppy, Cupcake, to the shelter there because they had more dogs than allowed by the county. Foxy is a sweetheart that is house trained. She is being spayed as we post this, is micro-chipped, and is up to date on all of her vaccinations. We believe that she would be a wonderful addition to any family.

From Coco’s foster mom:
“CoCo Chanel”
This gorgeous female cocker is very qualified to be named after the elegant French fashion designer; she is a beautiful lady in every way. She is SOLID black and very young – she was born 3/10/2009. Coco is VERY playful and is a dog that needs an owner who will walk her every day if possible – if you are looking for a jogging partner she’s up for it! She gets along well with my two female cockers aged 4 1/2 and 19 (yes really); the 19 year old is dominant and CoCo was instantly submissive to her . She has a VERY gentle demeanor; I can’t stress this enough. She even takes a dog treat in a dainty slow fashion! She gives kisses and will obviously be devoted to her lucky owner. I have no kids but I believe she would get along well with them . As you can see by the duck photo she LOVES to play with toys and will fetch them back to you! She knows sit, stay and even heel commands and when I walk she is right behind on my side in a “calm-submissive” type of attitude. However, she LOVES to run if she can as I said. She is pretty smart and I do hope her future owner likes her name as she answers to it immediately. Her ONLY drawback that I have found is she wants to jump up on couches. We are trying to make her stop this. Also she is fully housebroken and NOT a “submissive piddler” All in all a companion for a lifetime and just a great dog.
Coco is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccinations.

Buddy is a five year old Cocker Spaniel mix (maybe Poodle if his face is any indicator) that came to us from one of the Denver shelters. He was an owner surrender. The owner inherited Buddy from his father, but didn’t feel as if he could give him the attention that he deserves.
Buddy is a long-legged and big hearted Cocker Spaniel. He is a gentle and loving dog that will blend with your family immediately. He gets along fine with other animals and enjoys children. He loves to romp in the yard and fetch balls and Frisbees. While he is at a perfect weight now, Buddy has had weight problems in the past and needs a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. He is house broken and spends much of his time indoors. Buddy enjoys the short cut of his recent grooming but his fur will grow out into a beautiful mane covered with curls. Buddy is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations and is microchipped, so all he needs if someone to love him for the rest of his life.
If you’re that person, please complete an online adoption application.

Baxter is a darling five year old solid black mix breed. We think he may be a mix of Cocker Spaniel and Pekingese. He is loyal and loving and came housetrained and willing to play. His favorite toy is a 16 inch rubber ball with 2 braided cords of rope that he can swing around and chase — by himself!!! For a little dog of no more than 15 pounds, he is a brave companion who rarely barks.
Baxter is up-to-date on his vaccinations, is neutered and micro-chipped. He is fine around other dogs and should be fine with children of all ages. If you are interested in meeting Baxter, please fill out an online adoption application.

Ace with Sean, Deb and Allison
Sean, Deb and Allison were looking for their first family dog when they saw Ace at one of our adoption events. He’s a friendly boy who loves people, but there were other dogs they wanted to see as well so they held off for another week and visited him again at a another Petco adoption event. It was a hard choice to make since a couple of dogs caught their attention, but after talking it over at lunch, they came back and announced Ace was the one! Deb and Allison sat on the floor and Ace immediately jumped into their laps and snuggled. He had adopted them as well!

Sundance is Butch’s brother. He is about one year old and weighs around 20 lbs. He is lively, interested and likes to be where his human is. He loves people a bit more than toys and has a cheerful loving nature. He should be good around children and is a little possessive of his owner’s lap. He is house trained, crate trained and all around great dog who is a little shadow that wants to be where you are.
Sundance is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Sundance, please complete an online adoption application.

Butch is one of twins around one year old. He is housetrained and comfortable on leash. Like every little boy, he loves to play with toys and he loves to be petted. Soon he will figure out how to bring a toy and still set on a lap and he will be in heaven. He gets along well with other animals but likes his human best. He is quiet, loving companion that should be good with children and loves back yards.
Butch is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Ace has the heart and muscles of a Lab but the devotion of a Cocker. Mouth open and romping across the floor, then he comes often to lay his head on your knee, waiting, just waiting for you to stroke his head. He has discovered affection and is a little awkward. There can’t be too much. He has had a curious problem with house training. It seems he is afraid to step off of cement into the grass. Once you haul him in, he relaxes a bit, then with patience he takes care of business. Our guess is he was previously put in a yard with electric underground barriers and he exhibits great fear of stepping over the edge of lawn. Such a gentle happy dog, that would have been very frightening and confusing. He is is still reluctant and cautious but learning more and more that it is a good thing, not bad. A move to a new home will require the new owner to reinforce his confidence. He likes to bark at cats so probably not a good match. He would be very good with school age children to help him run off his energy and throw balls. He is heavy enough to knock a small child over with love, so best he not go to a home with toddlers. Got any 7 year old boys driving you crazy? Ace is your solution.
